Today, one week after moving into my new apartment in a new city to get away from my stalker ex, I met my new neighbour. Yep, stalker ex. FML

Today, my fiancé and I just moved into our first apartment together. Our neighbor across the hall? My ex-boyfriend who I've had to file three separate restraining orders on. FML
Today, I moved into my new apartment. My neighbor is apparently crazy and thinks I'm trying to 'steal' her husband. She watches me and is super paranoid. I have a two year lease. FML
Today, my new neighbours came over to introduce themselves. I opened the door to see my ex-husband, with a horrified look on his face, and his girlfriend. FML
Today, my psycho ex-girlfriend showed up at my new job to, "Keep an eye on me." The same ex-girlfriend who has been stalking me since we broke up. Two years ago. FML
Today, I learned that my apartment building has two new tenants: my ex-girlfriend and her fiancé, the guy she cheated on me with. FML
Today, I moved into a new apartment. While moving boxes, I ran into my supervisor from work. Guess who lives across the hall. FML
Today, I found out my stalker is my mom's new boyfriend. FML
Today, I found out that my violent ex has moved to my country for the sole purpose of tracking me down. I know this because my former boss called and told me she gave him my address. She loves the idea of us getting back together because, "You're such a cute couple!" FML
Today, I found out that my new roommate is dating my ex-boyfriend. FML
Today, I woke up to the sound of my psycho ex trying to break down my apartment door. FML

Well, now is a good time for your stalker ex to meet someone new. My suggestion, introduce him to the local police, and possibly a new cell-mate.

Wow, he's good. Your first mistake is running away from him -- you're just engaging his best skill. You need to get back with him and be boring, smelly, obnoxious, rude, unshaven, insulting, lazy and dirty. He'll probably pay your rent for the year while he gets the hell out.

I don't know that you can call the police just because your ex is creepy and moved in next to you. That's not illegal. You would need some basis for a complaint, like he is going through your mail or harassing you.

Stalking like this is easily provable, but first, they need to get a restraining order for 1000ft. It would force him to move. No way he could find a room in his apartment that far away!

if you have documentation from the police of your former city then you can give that to the police of your current city to let them know what's up

There are programs specifically for victims of this type of behavior and no you don’t need a restraining order to participate in the states. In Texas it is called the Address confidentiality program. I believe most states have something similar so check your states website.
