Today, I went to an important job interview, only to be told I'm not what such a "prestigious" company was looking for. This from a pimply-faced 20-something who took a personal call on speakerphone mid-interview, and actually said "LMAO" out loud at his friend's joke. FML

Today, I went to my first job interview. I didn't think I was doing too badly, until the interviewer said, "Wait a second, you're in high school?" I explained that the guy who'd called me had said that this wouldn't be a problem. I then watched as my interviewer left his desk to "deal" with him. FML
Today, I had a job interview, for which I spent hours preparing. My interviewer was nothing more than a pimple-faced teen, and after only two minutes of reviewing my qualifications, he lost interest and started asking such questions as which Hogwarts house is my favorite. FML
Today, I got a call from the only company that asked me to come in for an interview of the many applications I submitted. I answered it even though I was at my current job. My boss heard and chewed me out. The call was to cancel the interview since the position was filled. FML
Today, I was to have an important phone interview for a job. I got a call and everything went perfectly, and they said I was hired. Later, I found out that one of my "friends" had gotten one of his buddies to prank call me and make sure the line was engaged when the real interviewer called. FML
Today, my phone cut out during a call for a job interview. I tried calling them back, but there was no answer. Later, I got an email from the interviewer, saying I was no longer being considered for the position due to my being "rude and unprofessional." FML
Today, I went for an interview at a great company. Everything was going well until I tried to demonstrate my knowledge of their industry by using a technical term. Turns out I'd completely misunderstood the term and used it in the wrong context. The interviewer raised an eyebrow, and I could see "Don't call us, we'll call you" flicker in their eyes. FML
Today, I had a job interview. I have a speech impediment and as much as I tried to keep it under control, it came out during the interview. I could tell the interviewers were trying to hold in their laughter. They ended the interview after 5 agonizing minutes, saying they’ll contact me. I left in tears. FML
Today, I had a job interview that I really wanted to nail. Everything was great until the interviewer asked me why I left my last job. I meant to say, "I felt it was time for a new challenge," but instead I said, "I felt tired of pretending to care." The look on their face was priceless. Needless to say, but I don't think I'll get the job. FML
Today, in this horrible job market, I finally got an interview with a dream company. But like the dumbass I am, I mentioned my baby in the interview and got the "look" from the interviewer. Bye bye yet another job. FML
Today, I went to the bathroom after a terrible job interview. My interviewer walked in with another guy, talking about my interview, saying he was obviously going to hire the other guy because my odd-sounding name was too hard to pronounce, yet alone spell in multiple emails. FML

I get the rest of that shit makes him seem like a terrible guy, but was the acne mention really necessary? I've been scrubbing my face multiple times a day and taken prescription medication for acne since middle school and it still hasn't cleared up in my twenties. Sometimes it just doesn't clear up and it's pretty immature to make fun of someone for it.

I mean, why would you want to work for a company like that? Why would you want work for/with a person like that? It's this sad state we're in, so desperate for work, that we eventually say "as long as I have a job I don't matter" and make ourselves subject to working with/for people in a company we despise. OP you matter. Don't be bitter, that pimply-faced-twenty-something saved you from hell. Would you really wanna immerse yourself in that 40 hours a week?

oh! also you could argue to HR that your interview was unfair/unsatisfactory as the interviewer was more interested in talking to his friends on the phone than paying attention to what you were saying.

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago via skype for a job in another country. The interviewer was 10 mins late, then came on to tell me that she couldn't find my paperwork. Another 5 mins later, and she finally started the interview. Halfway through it, she took a personal phone call, and then at the end of the interview, she told me I didn't talk enough and ask enough questions, so I wasn't what she was looking for. I contacted the main office who had done my first interview and told them what happened. I requested an interview for the same position in another one of the company's locations and got the job, working for a really great guy who I'm still friends with. Maybe you can do something like that. Good luck.
