Today, I accidentally clamped my hair straightener down on my ear. Eleven hours later, it still feels like I have a burning, swollen fireball hanging off the side of my head. FML

Yeppp..I've totally done that before. IT HURTS! There was a scar on my ear for like a month. :(

get a cortex. the infrared technology helps reduce heat transfer of immediate contact. I've accidentally touched mine a million times while it was 425 degrees! lol. tjmaxx or marshals! ~$30!

Ouch, first off: Don't use ice. It could make the burn worse. Second: I've burned my arm before on a 450 degree metal handle that holds those pizza stone pans. It hurt very badly, and I just ran warm to gradually cool water on it. For a few weeks, I had a giant scab, that eventually turned to a scar running the length of my forearm, but now I don't have it anymore, so don't worry.

ouch! been there, that crap seriously hurts. I had a blister for what seemed like forever on my right ear lobe. I definitely sympathize OP :(
