Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my one-year-old son locked me out of the house. I had no spare key and both him and my 4-month-old decided that was the perfect time to scream bloody murder. FML
Today, I came home after a long day at work to find the furniture in my living room had been rearranged by my mother-in-law. When asked how she got in, she told us she stole my husband's key and made herself a copy. She can now come here whenever she wants, unless I change the locks. FML
Today, since my parents always told me that I was welcome to come home whenever I want or need, I decided to stop by. They'd changed the locks and wouldn't let me in. FML
Today, after a week of looking for my car keys and being forced to drag my family around on public transportation, my wife found the keys in our car's ignition. FML
Today, I found out that my mother changed all the locks of the house and threw away all of my girlfriend's stuff. I don't know what the fuck happened there. I actually bought the house two years ago because I had enought of her being nosey and controlling with both of us. FML
Today, my mother-in-law told my fiancé that I had to leave and wasn’t allowed to live there anymore. I own the house. She’s mad because I locked the door so she couldn't walk in anytime she wanted. FML
Today, I changed the locks on my apartment so my crazy ex girlfriend couldn't get in. I went to her house to return her house key. I accidentally gave her the key to my new locks, and can't find her old house key. Now I need her to come let me in to my own house. FML
Today, I had just gotten home after being away for 8 months. My key didn’t work on my lock and while I was messing the door a man with a child opened. My landlord gave someone my apartment while I was away. FML
Today, I was babysitting. Being kind, I went to grab their mail, while their 4 year old ate lunch. He locked me out, wrecked the house, and let me in right when he saw their car two hours later. I didn't get paid. I paid them. FML
Today, I had to get into my house via the dog flap because my mom changed the locks. FML

oh you're one of those 1 your son is a grown ass man. he can help around the house and help with the children he helped create 2 that key was for emergencies so you shouldn't have any idea the locks were changed. It absolutely was not ok to try to just let yourself in their home unannounced you'll be lucky if you ever see them again because you sure don't deserve to

It's not babysitting when it's your kid(s). It's parenting. And chores are everyone's responsibility. Not women's. And days off are not restricted to relaxing and having fun. They're also for getting things done. That's called being a responsible adult. But first and foremost, it's not your place to dictate how other adults, or their spouses, live their lives. How dare you? YDI.

You should never interfere in someone else's relationship, especially your own kids. Let them figure it out. Especially in cases like that where it's obvious both sides should compromise

Go have a look at r/JUSTNOMIL and then take a very long look in the mirror. Just copy and paste into the search bar. You are one more harpie bitch fit away from being cut out of their lives and given your attitude, absolutely no one here blames them. You sound exhausting.

I'm guessing you think she should wake up before him, put on full makeup and a nice dress and have the house spotless at all times and full perfect dinner on the table promptly at 5:30. she isn't June Cleaver and this isn't the 1950's. go crawl in a hole and leave him and his family alone.

For the love of…being a dad is not ******* babysitting. I’m a single dad of a special needs son and a precocious daughter. It’s not babysitting; it’s hard work and you’re never truly off the clock.

What the H is your problem? If those are his kids, he’s NOT “babysitting,” he’s watching his own poopyshucks kids.

You sound truly awful, I’d lock you out too. And get a restraining order.
