Today, I'm wondering if I can forgive someone who I was there for when they were at their lowest, but when I was at mine, they dropped me and told me they couldn’t help me, and I can't talk to them about it anymore? FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, is it normal to miss someone who’s hurt you so bad? How do you move on with life after wasting 3 years? How can you move on when everything around you reminds you of that person? When do you know enough is enough? FML
Today, I miss someone I shouldn’t. Someone who made me feel like complete shit, but I hope they're happy wherever they are, and they take care of themselves. I hope they heal with their family. I hope they are good and things workout for them. That they realise how awful they were and finally change. FML
Today, after I supported my friends through heartbreak, had long conversations at 4 a.m., stayed late at work to help through breakdowns, I finally broke after a series of bad experiences. I decided to reach out. All I got was, "lol that sucks", "Oh, would you believe the week I had" or simply no response. FML
Today, while I was explaining my troubles to my therapist, he asked me, "And don't you have someone you can tell all that?" FML
Today, I saw a good friend beg and crawl back to her controlling girlfriend who treats her like a child for the umpteenth time, even after herself acknowledging that she got mistreated. I don't know what else to do to help her, or if I even should. FML
Today, I've always struggled with communication and such with my family, so I was difficult to take care of, yet I always held myself together, did my chores, and took care of myself. Sometimes I even helped them out, but now they’re kicking me out of the house, and I have nowhere to go, and I don’t know what to do. FML
Today, after I tried to give a friend I had for ten years a second chance, after we had a bad falling out because it was "too much for her" that I had a life changing accident and was not upbeat about it, needless to say she has been obnoxious these past 6 months and I should not have let her selfish butt back in. FML
Today, I connected two of my long time best friends. Upon chatting with each other, they discovered how toxic I was as a friend to both of them. They agreed that those traits don't exist anymore, but they are too hurt to continue their friendship with me. Fire away the YDI. FML
Today, all I want is someone to talk to. The only person who ever responds is my ex-fiance who cheated on me. Multiple times. FML
Today, I was comforting my friend who has a toxic relationship with her Mom. She said, "If I'm such a failure, they always make it known that I can't live up to their expectations." It caught me a bit off guard when she said, "I wish she would just leave me alone and leave my life just like your mom did." FML

I say this with the utmost empathy but... friends are not your therapists and it's perfectly okay (even for you) to draw lines on the depth of support you're able to offer. I 100% believe that they appreciated you being there for them at their lowest, but you would also have been within your rights to tell them that this is too much for them to put on you. Have an open conversation with them about whether what you're going through is just too much for them to handle and seek professional help if you truly need it.

Fully agree but with the caveat that some people can be narcissistic when it comes to friendship and expect to always be helped but never have to help. If, after having an open conversation, the feeling is that the friend is one of these people, you may want to adjust your level of involvement knowing that it won’t be reciprocated in the future. I always have liked the saying: “when someone shows you who they are, believe them”.

I can't help your ex treat you better. I'm sorry you put him over our relationship. Stop ******* talking to him like he's going to change. But I'm the asshole right?

I agree with all the other comments especially the therapist one but another angle Is you're giving too much of yourself to the wrong person. that person needs you for this reason but they don't want to return the favor sounds like a one-sided friendship
