Today, I was giving a presentation at work, when I said, "But we could care less about that." My boss asked if I meant, "Couldn't care less." Wanting to avoid embarrassment, I tried to think up an excuse, only to end up blurting that it was my phone's auto-correct. FML

You're an idiot. That's all.

You could have so used that as comedic gold if you'd have laughed at that.

What? Where's the embarrassing part in saying 'Yes, that's what I meant. Thank you for correcting me', or something like that?

Right on, Alan, and great illustration. Of course, idiot duke will probably stick his empty head in here again, unable to recognize his idiocy.

btw, OP, regardless of the "correctness" of saying you COULD care less, it's just flat-out inappropriate, unprofessional language to use for a presentation.

It is "couldn't" though, you know. If you "could" care less, you must care at least a little.

Nice save, buddy.

This sounds a little too far fetched for me. I call BS.

There's a perfect rebuttal for that. "No, I could care less. I cared enough to mention it"
