At last!
Today, I finally lost enough weight to fit into the beautiful dress that I ordered for my senior prom. I graduated from high school in 2010. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my prom dress finally arrived. My prom was yesterday. FML
Today, after months of dieting, I finally reached my goal weight. Excitedly I told my boyfriend, who gave me a beautiful dress as an early Christmas present. It was a size too small. FML
Today, I finally got the wedding dress I've been waiting months to see. It turns out that my mom ordered the dress 2 sizes smaller than my size, this way it will be "an incentive to lose weight". FML
Today, marks my one hundredth pound loss. To celebrate, I put on my first backless dress I bought for this occasion. The dress fit great. Unfortunately, today also marks the realization that instead of inheriting my father's beautiful hazel eyes, the universe blessed me with his hard to get rid of back rolls instead. FML
Today, I was excited about my friend going wedding dress shopping, so before I went to go work out, I decided to try on a prom dress from high school to remember what it felt like to get dressed up. It was too tight, I broke the zipper, and spent 45 minutes trapped before I cut myself out. FML
Today, I received the beautiful dress I'd ordered on the internet. It's a size smaller than my usual, just to encourage me to lose weight. I managed to fit into it and wear it all day, but I've now been struggling for a couple of hours to remove it without tearing it to bits. FML
Today, I hung out with some old friends for the first time since losing about 50 pounds, going from clinically obese to a healthy weight. I even bought a cute new dress for the occasion to show off my new body. No one noticed the change. FML
Today, after losing 20 pounds, I decided to purchase new clothes. All of the clothes at the store were still too small for me. FML
Today, my dad informed me that my prom dress makes me look chubby from the side, gives me "back fat", and that I wouldn't want to go to prom looking like that. I tried to ignore his hurtful comments and tell myself I was beautiful. Then the clasp broke. FML
Today, I've lost so much weight from depression that I don't fit into women's clothing anymore. There's nothing like trying to find dress pants in the kids section. FML

But you did it! Rejoice in that!!

Were you not fitted or took measurements for your dress? Or did you just make a hopeful guess? If the former, you should have returned it and demanded it refitted or a refund; if the latter, YDI. Either way, congrats on losing weight!

Look on the bright side you lost weight. But why did you order a dress if you didn't fit in it?

Aww! On the bright side, you are now (I hope) healthier and more fit. And you can feel good about the new dress size by going shopping for more dresses! ;)

Now all you have to do is find some fancy party or like a wedding to wear it to!

Who cares? Both high school and prom are overrated. Be happy you lost the weight and keep up the good work.

Congratulations op! Don't be sad that you couldn't fit into then. Be proud you fit into it now. Wear it out on the town, go somewhere nice, celebrate!

I agree! Tell your friends to dress up and go out for fancy cocktails!

I think she should be upset that she was too stupid to just buy a dress thst fit her.

That's still really great! Isn't it awfully stressful to keep around clothes that don't fit for years though?

I gained weight after being on medication and having health issues and I kept my thinner clothes hoping I'd be able to fit into them again, but after a few years I couldn't handle seeing them and not being able to wear them. But I also wasn't able to work out. If you're able to work out then I could see how having the one dress around could serve as motivation while you're already working out and working your way back to that size. Having the clothes around while you're not doing anything to get back to that size doesn't make as much sense though.

At least you fit in it now! Losing weight is a huge accomplishment. Don't be so hard on yourself.
