Today, after planning 4 months in advance and spending almost $600 to cover everyone's tickets to the event center, all of my siblings decided to bail on my 30th birthday celebration because driving 3 hours is too much. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, all of my friends bailed from the birthday party I was throwing myself. This was also after they had encouraged me for months to have one, knowing I'd never had my birthday celebrated before. FML
Today, after buying over $300 worth of food and alcohol, I found out all my friends aren't coming to my New Years party but headed to the BIG party at the local club. The one which I sold my ticket to after my friends convinced me to throw a party instead. FML
Unhappy Birthday
Today, I traveled 3 hours to a town I hate, to spend my birthday with my mom and brother and his family. My mom didn't realize it was my birthday until the cake slice with candles was placed in front of me. FML
Today, I spent $70 on party supplies for my sister's bachelorette party, another hour decorating, three hours baking and designing a cake, before waiting five hours to hear that she and another bridesmaid had 'moved' the party elsewhere. Cake anyone? FML
Today, all of my friends showed up an hour late for my 18th birthday party because they decided to go get dinner without me. FML
Waste of time
Today, after our in-laws begged us to go, we drove 350 km each way to attend a birthday party on a Sunday. Upon arriving, they informed us the party started at 5 pm, not lunch time, leaving us to drive 5 hours in the dark. Our reward? My husband, 3 year old, 7 month old, and myself tested positive for Covid. FML
I don't wanna!
Today, I told my mom for the third time that I won’t be able to attend her husband's family Christmas party because it’s on my birthday. She won’t take no for an answer, and I just don’t want to spend my whole birthday in a car for an 8-hour drive there and back. FML
Today, my whole family made an hour-long drive to a restaurant that's just a few minutes away from my place. I wasn't invited. FML
Thanks everyone
Today, I'd organized a small dinner with immediate family for my birthday. I’ve since received texts from every one of them, cancelling due to varying reasons. My parents excuse is the funniest - they went out last night for a coworker’s party, and don’t want to go out again tonight. For me. Their child. FML
All over the place
Today, I drove 15 hours to drop my son off at my parents' for their vacation, just for them to tell me that they changed their minds and they're taking my sister's kids instead. FML

That says a lot about what kind of brother you’ve been during your first 30 years.

Next time, OP, have everybody buy their own tix for which you'll gladly re-imburse them (if at all) AFTER said event. :-)

I mean, you may not be mistaken, but sometimes people are just shitty. For instance, I have a friend (or so I think at least) who I haven't had any problems with, we're not each other's besties and hang out every day, but we're on friendly terms. I tried to set up a cinema date with them weeks in advance, no cost to him as I get free tickets. This took ages to sort out because rather than just deciding on the cinema and the time to meet, cause he is just so flaky it took me a week to narrow down a cinema, another week to narrow down a screening and on the day he tried to bail 'because he wasn't sure if he could afford the free ticket'. Some people are just shit and it has nothing to do with you.

"30th birthday celebration trip" Maybe it's time to grow up, take a simple happy birthday text and move on

Know what you tell a sibling with 2 black eyes and won't come to your birthday party? Nothing, you already told them twice.

Meh, siblings. Who needs them anyways.

You better venmo charge all of them for the tickets plus a convenience fee

Your friends are douches. Sorry OP.

Did they RSVP for this celebration, so that you could reasonably expect them to show? If they did not, you were basically making plans for someone without their consent. If they did, then, yeah, your siblings are toxic people and you should probably cut them out of your life.
