Today, I tried to buy a bottle of wine from the supermarket. The scrawny, acne-ridden kid at the checkout asked to see my ID. I didn't have any on me, since I'm 37 years old and didn't expect to be asked stupid questions. I complained to his manager, only to be asked to leave. FML

I really don't think the cashier being scrawny or having acne is relevant AT ALL. OP is an asshole.

Some places say they are supposed to ID if you look under 30..so take it as a compliment!

Ydi. Ima cashier at target, and the machine won't let you ring up the booze without an i.d. You can't just override it, smart one

Don't be an ass on thanksgiving to someone just doing their job.

The law is that if you appear under 40, they have to check your ID. They can lose their liquor license if they don't. The kid was doing his job, ydi for being a snooty bitch. You're 37 years old and bashing sone teenagers appearance over a bottle of ******* wine. Grow up.

If it makes you feel any better I was denied the right to buy alcohol when all I had on me was my military ID.

Wow, some of you need to learn to read. This happened in the UK, where we don't have Thanksgiving. The law here is that if you look under 25, you will be asked for ID. I agree that OP is bitching about nothing, but remember that we have different laws and customs here in the UK.

Don't be a dick hole, people in retail have to deal with "stings" and can be fired, charged with a felony while having to pay a shit ton of fines. You should just have your ID on you.

wow, you're a douche and im sure they laughed their asses off at you after you left.

what do you guys mean It's his job to ask? I doubt this guy looks that young at the age of 37. if the customer looks easily over 25/30, you don't ask!
