Today, I tried to buy a bottle of wine from the supermarket. The scrawny, acne-ridden kid at the checkout asked to see my ID. I didn't have any on me, since I'm 37 years old and didn't expect to be asked stupid questions. I complained to his manager, only to be asked to leave. FML

Most large markets are required to I'D below a certain age. Walmart is everyone under 40 some are required to no matter what. So you made that acne faced kid feel like crap most likely.

Don't get mad at him for doing his job. You're just a dumbass who left their id at home. It's an identification card learn to take it with you. You're 37, you should know this by now.

We don't have id cards in the UK. Nor is it the law to carry a form of id with you, including driving licences - as long as you have one on the DVLA system, that's good enough. Most large supermarkets have a policy of carding people who appear to be under 25. I never carry ID and have been carded once or twice. It's annoying, but I don't think my life is ****** because of it. OP must have *really* wanted a drink
