Today, my mom asked if she could use my red dress for her two-week trip to the Caribbean. I said no, because I was going to a party and I wanted to wear it. She called me a selfish, greedy bitch who would stay single forever. I paid for her plane ticket, her hotel fees and her cruise ship fee. FML

I don't really think it's an issue about the cost of the trip vs. the cost of raising her daughter. It seems obvious that the OP was trying to do something nice for her mom and didn't exactly expect that type of reaction when she said she couldn't lend the dress. I mean her mom could have offered to take a different dress instead rather than blowing up her daughters face. Either way it's not a mature reaction from her mom.
