OP, don't worry about the people trying to roast you. I recommend just getting baked, and enjoying the sweeter things in life. Just don't feel too steamed about it.
We all have our stereotypes and ignorant comments about where we are from :), just laugh it off!
I live in Texas and I used to be asked if I rode horses to school, and if everyone kept guns on them at all times. ...suddenly this stereotype doesn't seem completely untrue anymore.
That is not true, I go to Idaho all the time and it has TONS of potatoes.
OP said he had never personally seen a potato farm in Idaho, not that they didn't exist there.
I feel your pain, OP. I'm a Lalafell and one of our slightly derogatory nicknames is "potato".
Don't worry, people ask if I ride a kangaroo to school (when I was at school) or work. But that's just ridiculous, I only keep him in the back yard
That's strange, the 50 states of USA jigsaw puzzle that my son plays also shows Idaho with a POTATO.. Hmm, I wonder why. :p
Because Idaho is known for potatoes (like the Idaho russet potato). But just because they are known for potatoes doesn't mean the state is nothing but potatoes. There are cities, mountains, rivers, forests, as well as farm land. I lived in Wisconsin (the dairy state) for nine years and never saw a dairy farm. That doesn't mean there are no dairy farms in Wisconsin…
Just be thankful your not from Montana.

don't worry op I find Idaho A-peeling
Don't worry OP, I'm sure you'd be a sweet potato. All corniness aside, don't take it too seriously, those people are living in ignorance.
