Won't the insurance cover it? A lot of people don't get given a car, they have to work and save for one. I know that it is disappointing at the moment to not get the car you were promised but at least your Mum is OK.

I will take a rusty truck over a shiny BMW almost any day. Unless I can sell the Beemer for a truck. I am glad to be a hick.. Not afraid of manual labor, not stuck up or entitled, and thankful for the many gifts in my life. Also, fraudsters are less likely to hit an old truck than spotless snob-mobile for some insurance claim.
