(0)this doesn't make sense. if it's in the outbox, it means it's gone out. maybe in the drafts folder? i don't actually know....
(0)Nope.. outbox means you clicked send, but it wasn't actually sent yet, probably due to size of the file or a connection issue or something.
(0)Hmmm.....?

Go check that your pants are on the right way to make sure you don't fail at another simple thing like getting dressed. Then go slap yourself. Hard.

Just send it out.

(0)If you actually did that then you're even dumber than the OP.
(0)I wonder whose fault this is?
(0)It's been a week, and you haven't noticed? Even when you checked a hundred times? FAIL.

(0)Either you're stupid, or you're dumb.
Outbox = You sent it already, but the other person hasn't opened it yet.
Sent = You've sent it and they have read it.
Drafts = You have started writing but haven't sent it to anyone yet.
So that means that your email puts your drafts in "outbox" and you're stupid for not sending it, or you are dumb for not knowing the difference between outbox, sent mail, and drafts!
(+2)You're the idiot. The outbox is where messages go when you click send but before they are sent by the server. Whether or not the person has read it yet has no bearing whatsoever over whether or not the message is in the outbox or the sent messages folder. When you send an e-mail, it generally first goes to the outbox while the server processes it. Once it has been sent by the server, it then gets moved to the sent messages folder (if your mail client is set up to save sent messages). The only effect a person actually reading the e-mail has is if you request that an automated response be sent to you when they read the message. Otherwise, you have no way of ever knowing whether or not they've read the message.
There is a very good chance that there is some issue with her mail server and that the message has been sitting in the outbox unsent even though she clicked send. It may have to do with the attachment size or some server side issue. So before you all go claiming that this person is retarded, or has Down's Syndrome, or however else you feel like expressing that she is mentally challenged, think things through a little bit. That's probably a bit too much to ask though, considering that FML is populated by a bunch of 13 year old boys.

(+1)Thank you #20 for saving me the trouble of having to explain to #18.
OP, it's 50% FYL and 50% YDI. I say that because EVERYTIME I send out an IMPORTANT email, I ALWAYS CHECK the sent folder to make sure it sent.
Earlier this week I had the same issue and until that time I didn't know anything about the outbox. All I knew was that I sent the email and it wasn't in my sent folder. So, I rooted around and found it in my outbox, then used the help section of my Mail application (Mac) to find out what the outbox was for and why my message was there instead of sent and that's when I learned and I checked my server and fixed the problem by sending it through a different server.
Long story short, that really sucks but you deserve it for not checking that it had been sent.

(0)Just send it again and wait some more? I mean sucks how you waited all the time for nothing but its not like you only had a week's window of time to send it in, right?
(0)That sucks, but could have been avoided if you had turned in a physical copy, in person. Then they'd have a face to match with the application, and you'd see that it was delivered, and depending on the job, maybe get an immediate interview. But if that wasn't possible, because the job is miles away... FYL.

(0)your_face: Many companies will only accept resumes through their preferred method, be it email, fax, or in person. If you show up to apply at a company that has advertised as Email Only, you won't even be considered. FYI.
(0)YDI for using a mail client that doesn't automatically send the contents of your outbox when you get a connection to the Internet.
