Today, I was fired from the babysitting job I've had for 2 years. I thought maybe the mother had found out that I sometimes let her kids stay up late and have extra sweets. The real reason, as she told me, was that she didn't want her kids loving anyone more than they love her. FML

Today, I got fired from my childcare job of five years because the other staff weren't as popular with the kids, so they accused me of being "creepy" because the kids all wanted to play a game with me instead of them. FML

Today, I found out why the parents whose children I babysit use me so often and on such short notice. It's not because they have abrupt nights out; it's because their kids hate me, and me being around is their way of punishing them. FML

Today, my boss had to leave the house for a little while. She asked me to take any messages she got. I answered the phone and lady calling said she was returning her call about the opening for a nanny position. I'm the current nanny. I found out I'm being fired by the new nanny. FML

Today, a woman got out of a car to scream at me as I was walking with the kids I babysit, demanding to know where I was taking her children. Apparently the woman who pays me is also a babysitter, who I have been "covering" for on her party nights. The mother doesn't believe I didn't know this. FML

Today, I was fired from my babysitting job because the baby’s first word was my name. Well, I’m sorry, but if you ask me to look after your child 14 hours a day, 6 days a week, and by the time you pick them up they’re already asleep, of course they’re going to know my name better than yours. FML

Yeah, I know! Eliminating the competition is the dumbest way to try and get your kids to love you more. Plus, how can you actually see how much a kid loves someone? If you indulge them and give them lots of sweets and late nights and stuff, of course they'll ACT like they love you the most; but that's not what it's about. While raising kids: the only aim to try and bring them up to be decent, happy people. Some parents are far more concerned about getting their kids to like them.

Why is her mom a bitch for that? She's not eliminating the competition. She thinks she's being replaced, and the fact that they like her babysitter better makes her feel as if she's not spending enough time with her children. I'm sorry. That's just awful for both you and her. She should have lied to you and told you that they didn't need one anymore or something.
