Today, I spent half an hour on the phone with a woman who was yelling at the top of her lungs, sobbing uncontrollably, and hyperventilating. She also told me if she had a heart attack and died from crying, it was all my fault. Why? I told her she needed her receipt to have her TV repaired. FML

She isn't going to die. She is just one of those idiot customers who wants something for nothing and thinks she is special. Stick to your guns op. I can't stand people like that. Give them an inch and they take a mile. Rules are rules and if she doesn't have the receipt then stuff her.

agree with 9. I hate it when customers try to return shit without a receipt as well. They love to bs the reason as to why they don't have a receipt but still want to return or exchange it, but OP that's sucks!

Unless she already had a heart condition, she would not have a heart attack and die from driving herself insane. I worked at a children's camp last summer, where there was one mother who had a screaming fit for half an hour when the director told her she could not stay with her child all day. She was perfectly fine, there is no way any young, healthy person could die from this.

you have to be firm with ppl like this op. they are just tryin to get something for free . u should have asked If she had the recipt right off and when she said no and started acting ridic u shoulda said , in a very polite manner, go **** yourself.

Should have said "Go on then. Have a Heart attack, I could use a laugh". Either that or hung up and say that she was swearing at you and was being hysterical. But if you do that then hope the call wasn't being monitored by someone else. I have worked in customer services before and it sucks when you have an unreasonable person on the other end of the phone. Just calmly state your case and advise her that it is the only way the tv would be repaired, and otherwise you cannot help her. If she doesn't accept it then put her onto your manager.. then it's his problem. ;-)

Hehehaha that is funny. I'm so glad a don't work in a call centre, I've heard some nasty stories. Customer service consulting sucks it. What a silly old lady
