Today, I saw a dime on the ground. When I bent down to pick it up, my $80 dollar pants ripped. FML

Wow lol, and that's why I hate tight pants xD Guessing it was a pear of jeans...

#3 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:03am by TidusBlade

Maybe you should get baggier jeans? Or maybe you just got fat...

#4 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:04am by xiloveyoux3

yeah
cuz if ur a dude that wears pants SO tight that they rip when you bend, you deserved it.
if ur

#159 - On 06/22/2009 at 3:53am by thyaftermath

So what did you buy with the dime?

#5 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:06am by freaky922

If your ass was large enough to cause such a catastrophe then you deserved it. Because obviously you are wearing pants that are too tight and no one likes fatties in skintight clothing. It shows your rolls.

#6 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:08am by victimofchanges

I don't have much sympathy for people who wear $80 pants.

#7 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:08am by bravesman1983

if you could afford $80 jeans, then you shouldnt have to pick up a dime off the dirty street. YDI

If you spend $80 on pants, make sure they're good quality.

#10 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:10am by notmuch

YDI for being too bootylicious

#11 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:11am by cue_tumbleweed

Technically, YDI for having $80 pants. Only $79.90 to go for replacing them!

#12 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:11am by mattz

How do people know they weren't dress pants for work or part of a suit or anything like that? If they were $80 jeans, that may be a bit excessive, but whatever, to each their own. Also, maybe it's from picking up dimes all the time that this person has enough money to get things like $80 pants. Some people are just good with their money, they don't deserve having their pants ripped because they know how to save up. Sorry about your pants.

#16 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:19am by tengil

yo fault, for being too fat for your pants

#17 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:19am by Alex_DeLarge

80$ pants, while a bit much, is actually not that expensive. It could have been suit pants orsomethin. And hey, sara palin's pants were like 1,000$ if i remember. So 80< 1000 if i remember my math. Also, its not cool to call people a jew for this.... although it is funny

#18 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:19am by roflcopter1

... or buy some string with the 10 cents and stitch them back up...
I'm fairly certain the hole wasn't that large. And most likely along a seam.

Well, if your pants ripped cuz you bent over, it probably means you need a new pair anyway. :/ Next time get less expensive pants, so if they rip you don't feel bad...

#27 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:54am by scarletgem21

well you obviously over paid buy quality clothes and you wont have that problem

#28 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:54am by carnieofvenice

Regular pants/jeans are 50-60$. 80$ is not an outrageous price but still.

Make sure your next pants are stretchy so you can freak out if you want to.

Also, if you re overweight go for the healthier food and more physical activities.

Your karma is in your hands.

#29 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:54am by Uduwudu

#26: I don't think Jews have anything to do with this.

but to the OP: If you were wearing $80 pants why on earth did you pick up a dime? even if you were wearing work pants that's a silly thing to do :P

#30 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:55am by QiScorpion

who picks up a fuckn DIME? cheap skate

#31 - On 04/11/2009 at 10:59am by i_like_chicks

$80 isn't that bad, picking up a dime isn't that bad . . . but spending $80 on a pair of jeans without making sure they're good quality (or buying them too small and being in denial about your weight) . . . that's just stupid.

#32 - On 04/11/2009 at 11:00am by tiedyejedi

Ummm #24, do WalMart brand jeans really last that long?
I have maybe 7-10 pairs of jeans, and some of them I've had for four years. I certainly didn't pay 20€ for them. I do occasionally buy cheap jeans, but not with plans to own them forever, because they really don't last that long...
I assume the OP must have been wearing either slacks/suit trousers that were either getting on in age or a bit too tight (which doesn't mean the OP is fat BTW- I've ripped the seam of a pencil skirt that I wear at work once, just because it's... a pencil skirt. It's supposed to be tight, and if you're sitting and walking and bending down enough the threads are going to weaken.)
Or else OP was wearing jeans from a company like Abercrombie, where they have pretty pricey clothes, that IMO are pretty cute, but they're ridiculously shoddily made - especially for the cost.
...wow. that was a TL/DR if I've ever written one. I didn't even mean to write that much

#33 - On 04/11/2009 at 11:06am by PTERONOPHOBIA

i think your pants are too tight =/

#37 - On 04/11/2009 at 11:17am by thugbert

Don't wear pants that are too small then.

#38 - On 04/11/2009 at 11:20am by Simp

Not going to lie... I've never seen anyone wear well-made jeans that fit and have them rip. I've only ever ripped pants that I had outgrown or gotten too chunky for. Maybe you should become more mindful of your size. It's just a number, it doesn't define you.

#41 - On 04/11/2009 at 11:49am by liveitlearnit

The multiple solutions to this are all simple...

Don't wear such tight pants, or
Don't buy expensive clothes that probably aren't any better than $15-20 jeans, or
Don't pick up change off of the ground, although, I would have too.

#43 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:15pm by Powahouse

I would've picked up the change as well. Not your fault, just unlucky.

Bend at the knees next time.

#44 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:21pm by gkunit20

everyone saying YDI for buying $80 pants are being judgmental idiots. Maybe he was coming back from a job interview, or a wedding, and wearing really nice dress pants. He never said they were jeans.

#45 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:21pm by choppedNskrewed

Sounds like your pants may have been a LITTLE too tight...

#46 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:23pm by JVonDahl

It just goes to show that expensive clothing is based off the designer's name and never quality.

#47 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:24pm by itsTiffany

its just a dime?? and why the hell do you have $80 pants

#48 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:24pm by Carlynator09

what if he got the pants as a gift; and who knows that coulda been his lucky dime or something; even if they were jeans doesnt mean he always spends $80 on jeans.. hence why he said FML

#49 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:24pm by Neverloveagain

Get some pants that fit, and try crouching down to pick up money next time around.

Time to lay off the donuts

#51 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:37pm by LuckyCharms

So you needed that dime because you're in debt after buying $80 pants?

I don't stop for anything less than a quarter.

#52 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:39pm by goodnightgracie

That's what you get for spending too much money on bullshit designer brands.

#53 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:39pm by videoCWK

Geez, I don't understand people here.

Wouldn't we all bend down and pick up ANY kind of coin we saw?
Haven't you EVER bought some piece of expensive clothing?
How do you know that this guy even bought the pants himself? Could have been a gift.

Furthermore, I consider this a genuine FML because it follows an old saying: "the more you want, the more you lose"...

#54 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:42pm by BigLord

either you were wearing the wrong size of $80 pants, or your $80 were really shitty quality :(

#55 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:49pm by greenrapsody

A. u got some crappy pants B. u are wearing pants that are way to tight or C. all the above and ur an idiot for bending over for a dime

#56 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:52pm by kimbo12345

FYL because it sucks to rip your pants.

YDI because you paid 80$ for a pair of pants.

#57 - On 04/11/2009 at 12:53pm by blowup_dollie

that ;s suck haha

#58 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:01pm by nothingatall

If you're the kind of person who buys *pants* that cost eighty freakin' bucks, you deserve anything you get. Seriously, there's plenty of clothing out there that looks better, costs at most 25% of that, and won't rip. Your type of horrendously blatant materialism will always come back to bite you.

#59 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:08pm by LH0026

And since I can't edit my previous comment, as it hasn't yet bothered to show up on the damn laggy site, yes, all my statements go for whether or not they were dress pants.

#60 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:11pm by LH0026

If you can afford to spend $80 you should buy ones that fit... and that don't rip when all you do is bend down

#61 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:16pm by _violet_

YDI for buying 80$ pants.

#54: Maybe to picking up a coin. No, to buying expensive clothing I'd rather buy several things for 80$ than one thing. And lastly, why would the op bring up that they were 80$ unless he/she paid for it them self? No reason.

#62 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:19pm by Lunie

It depends on where the rip was, really. I'd probably just wear the pants anyways... I mean, it sucks to rip your pants, especially relatively expensive ones, but it's not the end of the world.

#63 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:19pm by intoxicant

YDI for spending $80 on a pair of pants.

#64 - On 04/11/2009 at 1:20pm by kandy

Serious question, how much do you guys pay for pants? I usually wear Levi's 501's which are ~$50, but any other pair of decent pants is going to run at least $70. I'm a guy, and I'm not talking about skintight jeans or expensive high fashion shit. Buying $80 pants doesn't make you rich at all. It means you have your priorities straight and want to look good. But actually, scratch all that because it sounds like the OP is fat.

#79 - On 04/11/2009 at 2:32pm by ninefuckedlives

Maybe you should have spent that $80 on some grammar lessons instead.

#80 hahhahhaha yess!

#82 - On 04/11/2009 at 2:51pm by Remegy

#83 - On 04/11/2009 at 2:54pm by Juli

$80 pants?

#84 - On 04/11/2009 at 3:13pm by jdkfgkjdfb

I'm not sure what is so offensive about $80 pants. o.O I generally do not spend that much, but the two pairs of $80 jeans I do have (to be fair, they were on sale for $50 when I bought them), I have been wearing for like 3 years with plenty of time left in them. $20 Old Navy jeans, on the other hand, are done within six months.

But if your pants ripped when you bent over, those are some cheaply-made pants...

#85 - On 04/11/2009 at 3:20pm by wholeon

shouldent of bought the pants then u would have $80.10

:P

#86 - On 04/11/2009 at 3:21pm by trilo3000

If they rip so easily, they're not worth 80 dollars.

#87 - On 04/11/2009 at 3:40pm by Dragonmouth

I totally agree with #7, 9 and 10

#88 - On 04/11/2009 at 4:03pm by MusicMans

#53: $80 isn't "bullshit designer brand" pricing... designer jeans go upward of $150-250. However, they are also very good quality and are very unlikely to rip unless they're 2-3 sizes too small

#89 - On 04/11/2009 at 4:06pm by anon12

I bet you got them at urban outfitters.
their jeans are total shit but fit so well :(

#90 - On 04/11/2009 at 4:10pm by cea2010

I really hope you were wearing a suit.

#91 - On 04/11/2009 at 4:21pm by alex_vik

Man, YDI on the sole basis that you're wearing fucking $80 pants to begin with.

#92 - On 04/11/2009 at 4:42pm by Nemephosis

@ninefuckedlives: I have never seen a pair of pants that cost more than $30 and are any better than ones at a decent price. If anything, they're all worse. With my household income, I could buy plenty of $80 pants if I wanted. But I look just fine in $15 pants, and the $80 ones always have awkward shaping anyway, or else they're itchy, bunchy, et cetera, or just plain ugly. Priorities? That would be education and groceries. Not clothes. Especially not when I could get better ones for much less, or maybe, I don't know, wear each pair of pants more than once (gasp!).

#93 - On 04/11/2009 at 4:43pm by LH0026

#100 - On 04/11/2009 at 6:43pm by MOL

omg lmao.
80$ for a pair of pants, isn't all that much to be honest.
i just bought a sweater today, that was 100$, and it's not a heavy sweater either.
like people have said, not all of us shop at wall-mart. The more expensive they are the longer they USUALLY last, because they dont fade all that much.
sucks that they ripped.

Also, FYI (and in case you have no idea what THAT means, its 'For your information'), YDI means 'You deserve it'.

OP
C'mon! Are you serious? You went to pick up a DIME that you didn't drop? You can't have needed 10 cents THAT badly when you're wearing $80 pants. You deserved it big time! And if you were wearing tight pants, all the more deserving.

(1) WTF - who in their right mind in 2009 still really thinks that being cheap is associated with Judaism. What bigontry!

(2) $80 isn't really that much for a pair of jeans, and it's not a lot at all for that pair of dress pants you're required to wear to some jobs, family events, etc. If someone thinks "FML" when they tear, they're probably among the most expensive things in the closet, and possibly something that now needs to be replaced for work - perhaps at the detriment of other necessities in the monthly budget.

(3) How could this person possibly deserve it for picking up a dime? It's not like they could know that their pants would tear, even if they were a tad snug or worn.

#109 - On 04/11/2009 at 9:32pm by crose85

Wow you guys suck. Maybe they just got a raise or some birthday money and wanted to treat themselves. And even if the pants ripped that doesn't mean the OP is fat, they could have been skinny jeans or something. Chilllaxx

Don't see the point with the whole YDI factor. They definitely could've been dressy pants.
Sorry to hear that though. . :/

why are ppl hating on u... i dont understand, cuz if i see free money on the ground i would definately pick it up -.,-

#119 - On 04/12/2009 at 5:05am by xxmsp91

There is no need to spend $80 on pants, especially if you are going to be bending over to pick up $0.10

#120 - On 04/12/2009 at 9:03am by Chotton

thats exactly why you dont wear pants

#121 - On 04/12/2009 at 10:14am by brianpedro

#33. I buy all my jeans from Wal*Mart for twenty bucks, and I've had some of the same pairs for over five years.

The OP doesn't deserve it for spending $80 on pants, but they do deserve it for wearing pants that don't fit. It isn't expensive to get a tailor, though.

#122 - On 04/12/2009 at 1:06pm by harlequeen

Why the fuck did you buy such expensive pants that don't even fit you properly?

#123 - On 04/12/2009 at 3:40pm by isantorin

#109,

80 bucks on a pair of jeans is more than enough for me these days. I'd rather spend that 80 on a bunch of cheaper clothes.

#124 - On 04/12/2009 at 3:54pm by marycjones

been there, lol

#125 - On 04/12/2009 at 6:20pm by im4evaonyomind

I can't say you deserve because it seems like just bad luck. Afterall, $80 pants could just be dress pants .. I know when I used to work at an office, I had to pay $120 for just the damn pants they wanted. Though it sounds like perhaps they weren't big enough to fit you or they're fairly worn...

But seriously, sew them. Take some thread and hand-sew the hole up-- it can't be /that/ big, could it? If they ripped that easily, then it was probably along a seam.

#126 - On 04/12/2009 at 7:33pm by Oriina

#128 - On 04/12/2009 at 8:33pm by esushi

#140 - On 04/14/2009 at 3:48am by xXspdyXx

No offense.... but that´s why I usually get a bigger size.

#141 - On 04/14/2009 at 11:31am by oasisaddict

your fault for buying $80 pants

#142 - On 04/14/2009 at 1:28pm by bakersdozen

You should take that dime and invest it in a well balanced investment portfolio, preferably a no load fund with low overhead costs based in emerging markets which target solvent balance sheets and low P/E ratios. If you get an average return of 10%, which is very possible considering today's undervaluation, you'll have your $80 back in approximately 74 years. That compound interest baby!! Although that doesn't factor in taxes and inflation....FYL!!

#143 - On 04/14/2009 at 1:33pm by crasher41

why would you spend $80 on pants? YDI

#144 - On 04/14/2009 at 3:45pm by fuckkkkk

$80 on a pair of jeans? and you fucked them up over a damn dime? you stupid mother fucker! you spoiled little bitch!

#145 - On 04/15/2009 at 3:36pm by eatin_brownies

safe to say that those $80 jeans were definately not $80

#146 - On 04/16/2009 at 12:00pm by amiller16

a lot of people think $80 too much for denim? my denim cost $255! =D

#147 - On 04/16/2009 at 3:41pm by platypusrex256

My only problem is that you bought 80$ on jeans, yet still are greedy with ten fricken cents. Leave the random coins for people who need them.
#147-thats nothing to brag about.

#148 - On 04/17/2009 at 6:02pm by Dimaranien

ahhh irony

#149 - On 04/18/2009 at 1:25pm by Super_Sarah

That's hilarious.

#150 - On 04/18/2009 at 6:06pm by Scorponok

Your jeans are not worth what you paid for.

#151 - On 04/19/2009 at 8:21pm by ironyofmylife

Why is everyone freaking out about $80 pants? My cheapest jeans are $150, thats just jeans. If someone wants to spend $1000 on pants thats their prerogative. And most expensive pants are made of better material and fit much better that Wal-Mart or Old Navy brand.

#152 - On 04/19/2009 at 11:20pm by irishbabe672

um, fuck you, irishbabe, i could easily afford to pay 80 bucks on a pair of pants, but i choose not to because im not shallow and shit. walmart pants are the same exact thing as your designer jeans, so go suck a dick.

#166 - On 11/01/2009 at 8:23pm by jazzmancarron

Jesus, all of you people are getting bent outta shape over $80 pants?

I suppose that they're definitely not worthwhile if they ripped so easily, but there are some jeans that are well worth that price and more, due to sheer durability and the amount of wear you can get. Instead of several pairs of pants, just get one or two nice ones and wear them heavily.

Just sew it up or something >_>

#162 - On 08/22/2009 at 6:01pm by BunnyEars

I don't know if your life is f***** or anything, but I kept seeing people asking why you would pick up a dime if you had $80 (which isn't that much depending on what type of pants they were..) to spend on pants. Is it really such an awful thing to do to pick up a dime? I don't think so.

#163 - On 09/15/2009 at 7:20pm by cheesycue

u just lost 79.90 bucks

#164 - On 10/05/2009 at 1:50pm by youngboss

you fucking deserve it for wasting 80 dollars on a pair of pants that are probably tight enough to cut off circulation to your balls, and then bitching about it when they rip. fag.

#165 - On 11/01/2009 at 8:21pm by jazzmancarron

JC Penneys has $18.00 pants...just saying.
