Man or woman?

Today, I got home and realized that I didn't have my keys and my mum had said she wasn't going to be home till the next morning. After a long wait I decided I'd have to break a window to get in. Almost immediately after closing the door I watched as my mum pulled up in the driveway. FML

So you broke a window, but closed the door? How does that make sense?

#5 - On 10/13/2009 at 9:22pm by 1965

That's what I'm wondering...

#12 - On 10/13/2009 at 9:43pm by dudeitsdanny

lol i was thinking that too, but maybe he unlocked the door for some reason and walked back in lol nvm stupid reason

#13 - On 10/13/2009 at 9:50pm by Lolzarz

Maybe he broke the window by the door and unlocked the door from the inside?

#15 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:02pm by jgardner12

Maybe its like that old saying goes-- God never breaks a window without opening a door. :p

#45 - On 10/14/2009 at 12:26pm by maverick21703

Dude, I don't know. OP maybe had the doors like we have where there's the solid door with the flanking windows and turned the lock through the hole in the glass. And yeah, YDI. You always need a spare key, or the garage keypad things so shit like this doesn't happen.

#50 - On 10/14/2009 at 5:46pm by xxCFHxx

lets just say u need a phone

#7 - On 10/13/2009 at 9:23pm by jessxoxo28

#9 - On 10/13/2009 at 9:40pm by medli96

wow you really suck at life.

#14 - On 10/13/2009 at 9:58pm by organisedchaos

The things people will do when locked out of their dwelling. It's like watching a coyote gnaw its own leg out of a trap.

Indeed. *puffs on pipe* *blows smoke*

hilltop high first!

#17 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:15pm by atvarela

Hey, let's break a window, instead of asking a friend or a neighbour if you can sleep over that night 

#18 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:25pm by Avenging_Angel

well actually id prefer to break a window than sleep over at a neighbors... windows cost what, a couple hundred dollars. Id rather pay that than stay over at a stranger's (idk about you, but i hardly know my neighbors) house. Would you like a random person from across the street to spend the night at your house
? Probably not.

#40 - On 10/14/2009 at 6:59am by andyroxs

so why did you have to close the door if you broke a window im pretty sure last time i checked windows and doors are two seperate things and even if there was a window in te door chances are its up at the top so people cant brea it and open the door

#19 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:30pm by Mylife_is_so_fd

I'm guessing he meant one of those windows with doors?

#20 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:32pm by Zephryne

Why did your mom come home early if you expected to be out overnight?

Was the brothel raided, or did the pool boy just want a "Wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am?"

#21 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:33pm by perdix

OMG!!! That same exact thing happened to me, but I didn't end up breaking a window, haha, sucks for you :p

#22 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:36pm by jayjay777

ydi ur an idiot.... failtacular

#23 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:39pm by Mx_Rider

there were just so many better options here... like: knocking on the door of a neighbor. or a friend. walking to a nearby grocery store and calling your mother. or a friend.

incidentally, you really will not die if you have to sleep outdoors in suburbia for one night. and by "outdoors" i mean in a secluded, private and probably covered area of your backyard, if not your deck.

#24 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:39pm by jmeg

YDI for forgetting to bring keys and for not calling your mum first.

#25 - On 10/13/2009 at 10:52pm by wazdog

Really, do you not have ANY friends? It wouldn't kill you to spend a night away from home.

#26 - On 10/13/2009 at 11:07pm by lyndis

dont make assumptions...maybe he doesnt or maybe they live no where near him. Or maybe hes not a teenage girl that can just pop up at his best friends house at 1 in the morning and ask if he can sleep in his bed with him.

#42 - On 10/14/2009 at 11:22am by greenltrn2003

he maybe left something outside like books from school or anything he couldn't get thru the window u wana be smarties should stop over thinking cause u make yourself look even more stupid

#27 - On 10/13/2009 at 11:27pm by clos14

No one here unscrew shit at the hinges? That just me? Aight.

#29 - On 10/13/2009 at 11:39pm by mercyFML

Cricket sounds? :P

#30 - On 10/13/2009 at 11:44pm by Triumvirate

I understand why he broke in, I mean when you come from school or any other place you want to get inside of your house instead of left tired and locked outside. OP, many, many times this happened to me because of a key that wouldn't open the fucking door. So I've done all types of things before breaking a window, like calling people, once I tryed to get my dog to unlock the little window thing, so I wouldn't have to brake it, it didn't work LOL. Then I broke it. Anyways FYL.

#31 - On 10/13/2009 at 11:46pm by chellinha93

how would that make any sense to try to unlock a window ive seen some pretty damn smart dogs but not one that can operate a window mechanism

#32 - On 10/14/2009 at 12:17am by Mylife_is_so_fd

Yea I guess that's why it DIDN'T work. But hey I had to try it... lol

#33 - On 10/14/2009 at 1:09am by chellinha93

"Almost immediately after closing the door..."
Are you meaning to say that you pulled that Scoobie-Doo gag where you came in through the broken window, got your keys, climbed back out the window, and unlocked the door? +1 internets of you did.

Hey, look on the bright side: you'll get to have beer with the president now.

#34 - On 10/14/2009 at 1:11am by Ninjaface

Whenever I can't immediately get my door open I freak out. It always happens in the middle of winter, when there's 3 feet of snow on the ground and it's 12 degrees outside so staying outside for 2 1/2 hours until my mom gets home isn't an option. Luckily our garage is always unlocked but the basement door isn't so I have to bang on it until my grandma hears and lets me in. I hate it when that happens. I don't have a phone so I can't call anybody and I panic. You should've lied to your mom and said you came home and found it like that...well that actually would just cause more trouble for you in the long run xD

#35 - On 10/14/2009 at 1:19am by Tarynkd

Wow, that sucks.
I wonder how the next scene played out. XD

#36 - On 10/14/2009 at 1:19am by gummibehrs

you act like your the only ghetto person who has had to do this. I've done this at least 5 times, so get over it!

#37 - On 10/14/2009 at 2:01am by srak

really?...dude stop forgetting your keys.

if someone else breaks your window to get into your house neighbors will prolly say they thought it was you carrying your TV out of your house

#41 - On 10/14/2009 at 11:17am by greenltrn2003

Hmmm did Mama say that because she was planning on having a special visitor over that night? Or maybe she was planning a special visit to a "friend's house?" Sleepover, anyone? ^_^

#38 - On 10/14/2009 at 4:02am by beccaboo329

hence why we have a spare key hidden well, just in case

#39 - On 10/14/2009 at 5:25am by wah_face

Man up and sleep on a bench outside for a night!

#44 - On 10/14/2009 at 12:23pm by Tehalon

YDI for not being responsible and not having your keys.

#47 - On 10/14/2009 at 2:19pm by misspeg

And this is why you always keep a spare key hidden outside. So you don't have to break into your own house.

#48 - On 10/14/2009 at 4:38pm by myfriend_youfail

this was my story. in response to some of your questions, i broke the window pane in a door. so i reached in and unlocked the door, letting myslef in.

by the way, some of these comments are genious, i LOL'd

#49 - On 10/14/2009 at 5:38pm by cheeraio92

you thought mum was going out drinking again ay?

#51 - On 10/14/2009 at 5:58pm by epicwinmaster

I was late to school my senior year in high school, when I left the car locked and running with the keys in it, right after I had locked the house. Had to either break the window on the house or car. I opted for the house so I could get the spare car key, which I suddenly remembered that I had left at school the previous week.

#52 - On 10/17/2009 at 8:39am by SexlessHusband

Did you call her at 11-something p.m. and she arrived after a long wait, early in the a.m.?
