I would have replied with somehting along the lines of "That's too bad" or "Thanks for sharing your opinion with me, now sign the damn divorce papers and start packing". Or just move out. Your husband doesn't own you.

yh just pack ur stuff say **** u to ur soon ex husband and leave the house

Agreed. I've been in a relationship like that. I wasn't married, so I just said, "**** you, it's over!". That went back and forth for a while, and then I walked away. Just leave him. Relationships are for when 2 people love each other/want to be together. Only 1 person wants it now.

Sounds like you've got yourself an Unflushable!

YDI if you just randomly said it out of nowhere with no reason to back up your statement.

yeah uhm JUST LEAVE!!! how about instead of posting this on fml.com u pack ur stuff n leave. he cant MAKE you stay if u dont want to. get a restraining order, threaten him, n get some tuff family to kick his ass if he comes after you!! JUST GO LEAVE...stop whining n go.

"till death do us part" is a bitch, isn't it? YDI, now get your ass into marriage counseling and uphold your vows.

Whoever told you that "spelt" isn't a word was deeply mistaken. From the dictionary: spelt v. "A past tense and a past participle of spell"

******* annoying when people try to correct other people's grammar and they're wrong. Both "spelt" and "spelled" are correct. Goddamn.

yeah, that's exactly what I thought of when I read this FML. Seinfeld. Lol

don't let him come after her? what if he loves her and she is just being unreasonable??

Shaunisaloser 0

I guess we all know why you want a divorce. Just leave him! He doesn't own you unless you let him. Then it really is FYL

Hey **** you man I'm from Texas and I wouldn't treat a woman like that. To prove it go over to your mothers house. Open up her underwear drawer and look at the picture in there. You'll see she is very pleased with the way I treat her.

hes in denial? lol I'm sure he'll come around.

More like he'll cum around, if you KNOW WHAT I MEAN!?

I'm pretty sure it is, seeing as how she wants something as serious as a divorce and he acts like it's his way or hell to pay.

I'm pretty sure not being in love with someone counts as a reason to leave. Especially if kids are involved. Do you nutjobs actually think it's healthy for children to grow up knowing their parents don't love each other?

Why would you marry somebody if you don't love them? Just sayin....

Guitarlover the idea is that the two people fall out of love. They loved each other at the wedding but shit happens.

Why would you want to stay with someone who doesn't wanna be with you? :

If you want a divorce, leave. Don't let him control you like that! YOU GO GIRL!

lem0n_fml 0

Unless she has a specific reason for leaving him (adultry, assault, etc.) then she needs him to sign the divorce papers as well. Otherwise she's stuck in an unhappy marriage.

MiddleChild08 0

Not necessarily. Go to the courthouse, tell them you can't get a hold of him to serve him the papers. Then they will tell you to put an ad in the newspaper and let it run for some odd number of days, and if he doesn't contact the courthouse about the ad then they will give you a divorce. That is what my sister did.

trakus 0

that doesn't make sense. If there's a specific reason (such as adultery), she can fight for half of his stuff. Without the reason, she doesn't get the stuff. That doesn't mean she has to be married to him forever.

Xader 0

Sure it does. A marriage is a legally binding lifetime contract. Unless a breach of the contract has been made (aforementioned adultery, etc) it requires the consent of both contractual parties to break the contract.

Amendment. My above comment only applies to certain states. TX is NOT one of them. "Texas law recognizes only the following grounds as sufficient for granting a no-fault divorce: (1) the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities that has destroyed the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation; or (2) living separate and apart without cohabitation for three years."

Well then it's obvious. OP has to move out, and stay out for three years.
