Man or woman?

Today, I was preparing to perform with my marching band at a competition. Right before we went on, a tuba player friend of mine offered to help me stretch. He wound up snapping my bra. I'm a drum major, and had to conduct the entire show while my boobs were falling out. FML

#130 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:22am by FarSide

this has happened to me. i play cymbals- imagine doing visuals and such in that situation!

it's not that bad though. marching uniforms are always thick enough to where you can't actually see your boobs popping out.

#149 - On 09/28/2009 at 1:13am by anobody

A friend of yours "helped you stretch" then your bra snapped? Sounds more like a quickie before the performance.

Today, I performed in a marching band competition. Our drum major's bra broke and her tits were falling out. I threw up in my trumpet. FML

#171 - On 09/28/2009 at 8:39am by inconvienentgurl

My show band used to have DMs wear tuxes and the girls wear nice black dresses. A couple years ago, we had a girl whose dress was extremely pretty but not so conservatively cut. This would have been possible if the OP wore a similar dress. Not every band has the DMs wear uniforms like the marchers'.

#175 - On 09/28/2009 at 9:15am by Seastone

not all girl dm's wear dresses, my dm last yr was a girl and she wore a tux.

#2 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:44pm by Mastyge

If your uniform is like most marching band uniforms, they should be well-covered anyways
=p

#3 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:44pm by allmidnighteyes

Actually when I was in marching band last year, the drum major was in the Color gaurd(flag twirlers) and she wore a silk top and bottom. The top showed massive cleavage (we believed it was the idea of the director but had no proof haha) and they all had massive boobs. Like they were all double D's and they always carried around an extra bra just in case for such incident that this mght have happened hahaha They all shared the same bras because they could fit eachothers

They were all bi :] good year good good year

#176 - On 09/28/2009 at 9:37am by DrAwesome

I'm with 176, wth, all massive and had the same bra size with extra bras and silk indecent...*drools*..

#184 - On 09/28/2009 at 11:54am by Vaetrus

I say this is fake. Being in band myself, I know that the uniforms are too thick to allow someone to snag their bra, and even if it did happen, they wouldn't fall out of your uniform.

#4 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:44pm by MiddleChild08

But if you're a drum major, sometimes the uniforms are a little thinner or aren't in the same style as the band uniforms. Last year my DM wore a dress because it was a Latin show and it had a pretty low back, and if her bra strap was snapped, it would have been inconvenient.

#27 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:12pm by Horse_lady

Obviously none of you are drum majors or women. Assuming that the girl's bra wasn't a good one, it easily could have popped if she moved the wrong way while stretching. If she were wearing a costume, she could have easily had someone re-hook her bra. However, it is very difficult to get out of a full uniform, especially if, like many drum majors, she had to have her gauntlets sewn on to prevent them from flying away while she conducted. Finally, by saying that her boobs were falling out, she doesn't mean that they were literally falling out of her uniform, just that they were bouncing around outside of her bra, which is very uncomfortable and would make conducting a pain in the ass.

#30 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:22pm by KatieLikeLoves

true, and they have to have a straight face! But aren't you supposed to wear a sports bra? The band people at my school do.

#55 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:22pm by quackquackquac

Not necessarily, at my school the girls just wear regular bras and then they wear a white tshirt over it. Some decide to wear sport bras just so its not as annoying and less to worry about, but this same situation happened to my gf in the flute section right before our biggest competition of the year. It was quite hilarious.

#6 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:46pm by iScarli

You just admitted to being in a marching band?

Plus she could have really large breasts? Probably why the guy wanted to "help her stretch".

#7 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:46pm by jackkerouc9

Yeah, I've never seen a marching band uniform that would allow breasts to fall out of. Much less even tell if they were bouncing around or not...

#8 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:46pm by bassgoonist

I'm a drum major with D cups.....you can see boobs waaay too clearly through a full uniform, and you can see it when they bounce around. Especially if you're conducting in two....youre screwed. I feel horrible for this girl.....

#145 - On 09/28/2009 at 1:01am by LoverOfTheArts

at my school (im in elementary) they wear regular clothing so that understandable if yours the same
anyway you could have made him snap it back on or someone else

#9 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:47pm by bre_zip_it_up13

I highly doubt a drum major would be in elementary school.

Also, I played trumpet in band in elementary school. They didn't let you just wear whatever the day of a performance.

#11 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:49pm by allmidnighteyes

Or have huge boobs, at the least, lofl.

#12 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:51pm by DrAwesome

i was just saying since sheis in a marching band and the uniforms
and the kids at my school who is in the drum line they wear specific things to identify themselves

#59 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:41pm by bre_zip_it_up13

A) No offense, but you're a little young to be on FML if you're in elementary school.
B) The drumline is not the same thing as a drum major. Drumline is the people who play the drums. Drum majors are the people who stand in front of the band and conduct.

#208 - On 09/28/2009 at 11:56pm by wellduh

#10 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:49pm by keitorin

Why don't these things happen when you want them to? =P

#13 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:51pm by abdur

This isn't fake. Almost always if the Drum Major is a female she wont be wearing what the band is. Instead a flowy costume. Sometimes matching the color guards costume or atleast similar. You guys are thinking about what the marching band has to wear which in that case this would be a fake. But since shes a Drum Major its possible that she has larger boobs and had to take off her bra. But Her boobs probably would not have been "hanging" out.

#14 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:53pm by ruzzie

At my high school, the drum majors wear the same uniform as the band. And they are so thick that it would be nearly impossible for a bra to come undone. And no one would notice if it had because the front buttons and kind of puffs out a little bit.

#35 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:44pm by MiddleChild08

Then yours are different. Our drum majors wear flowy cleavage-showing costumes...

#78 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:29pm by dinosaursmoo

#16 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:54pm by paivarotti

I'm thinking the OP doesn't mean she was "falling out" as in other people could see her boobies, but was conducting/performing with her boobies unsecured, which as a well-endowed female is quite uncomfortable and awkward. I'd say it can happen because my bra snapped before a performance one time when I was in drill team. There was no way it could have snagged - it just happened to break at a very inconvenient time, unfortunately for me.

#17 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:54pm by randomoutburst

Yeah I was about to perform onstage at our theatre and my bra snapped. I feel for the OP, it's uncomfortable especially if your shirt is thin and white :/

Lmao! O WOW! FYL.
That must suck so much.

#18 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:54pm by JustSoLost

I've only seen a couple of bands that actually put girls in the dresses, even the domos. Of course, it is still a slight possibility. And being a girl with your bra messed up or pretty much gone sucks.

#19 - On 09/27/2009 at 7:59pm by xirocreator

Where I live, just about every Drum Major wears a flowy dress, other than the males.
I guess it depends on the region. But there definitely are alot of them.
At BOA's this Saturday, every drum major I saw wore a flowy gown.

#26 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:08pm by Doc_J65

I was at a competition last night and almost every female Drum Major wore a flowy dress, or costume. Besides the few that wore something that matched the theme of the performance.

Our drum major wore a sparkling silver blue dress, But our theme is My Manuscript. And our school colors are Maroon and silver. But it stilled looked perfessional.

#28 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:14pm by ruzzie

was your band at the panther creek competition last night?
cause i remember seeing a show similar that name, wakefield right?

#49 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:03pm by RuralProduct

Yeah. Wakefield HS. The guard was wearing a full body suit. White on top, maroon on bottom. Won first place is everything besides Drum Line. :) But we dont have a drum line.
And Brittney our Drum Major had mono. So Delante was our drum major for the night.

#81 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:31pm by ruzzie

My band competed in a BOA Regional last night... Louisville, Kentucky?

#84 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:33pm by dinosaursmoo

#62 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:48pm by misfortune

Coming from someone who claims they are 'crunk' I expected no less. Good luck with that.

#197 - On 09/28/2009 at 4:57pm by T_r_i_c_k_Y

This sounds fake... I've never seen a marching band where the drum major wore a uniform that would even vaguely allow you to fall out, bra or not.

I was in band for all four years of high school and went to plenty of competitions too... still no uniform that would allow it. The material is usually pretty thick too, so I don't know what kind of "stretches" you were doing that would snap a bra while in that uniform. o.0

#39 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:47pm by startafire

In recent years it has become very common for drum majors to wear costumes and go along with the theme of the show. I have seen many many female drum majors in regular old dresses or costumes made of thin materials. It doesn't say her chest was visible, it was probably just very uncomfortable for her to be conducting with a bra that wasn't doing its job.

#51 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:07pm by Zoey_B

okay thats completely possible, im on dance line and it happened to me on friday at our game. and our drum majors definitely dont wear the same thing the band does so if it were to happen to one of them, they'd be in the same situation she was. that sucks

#41 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:48pm by elyssa_v

and sometimes drum majors wear dresses or different costumes, depending on the show or school's tradition. idiots.

#43 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:50pm by brynnely09

The uniform, if it was a traditional marching band uniform, should have been stiff enough to hide anything jiggling. If it was anything else, well. :-(

#44 - On 09/27/2009 at 8:50pm by ChiliRamen

hahahaha....that sucks....in high school i was in guard...and they used to say if ur straps broke or snapped off it was good luck...but we also normally had to wear the invisible plastic ones...so that was slightly more likely to happen....

#47 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:00pm by snocap12

this could happen, what if she had a bad bra?, besides that would be really be really distracting.
hope your band did well at your competition.

#48 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:00pm by RuralProduct

that sucks.... our drum major has small boobs so it wouldnt matter much for her lol im sorry though

#58 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:33pm by jessicaislameee

I'm not trying to be rude, but why on earth would you need to stretch? I played field hockey where you actually run, and not march. And to the sport bra thing? Why would you need support you're not running!!! Ah! All the band people at my old highschool complained, but they don't have to do suicides (hint!) or run miles! Just saying...

#60 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:43pm by sobe23

Marching band is actually pretty demanding (if you're a competition band). Not only do you have to know and play the music, you have to know where/when to march and make it smooth. Youtube "The Cadets". It's not easy.

#63 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:50pm by aero

You'd be suprised how strenuous it gets...and yeah, conducting a field show isn't easy and quite frankly, if ur doing it right, ur arms will be Really sore......trust me, as a Thrower for winter and spring track, I'd know.

and you know what? Ur right, the level of conditioning is completely diffrent. Bandmembers have to be really good at controlling their heart rate and Field hockey players have to be really good at not being tired after running back and fowarth on a field.

#65 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:56pm by TAHDOGG

Mhm. Honey, we run. I'm in the colorguard at my school. We run our asses off. If we don't stretch, we get HURT. You play field hockey? So, you run around a field and whack a ball with a stick.

The marching band must hit an EXACT spot on the field for every drill set. (Hint: There can be hundreds of drill sets per show.) They must do this while staying in step, and they must have PERFECT feet. This means toes up, rolling your feet, or walking backwards on your toes without looking back to make sure you don't hit someone. While doing this, they must play music. The must play the right part at the right time in the right note while facing the right way and hitting the right form. A mistake costs points.

The colorguard has it no easier. We run all around the field, spinning flags above our heads, around our bodies, and even over each other. We also toss rifles (hard, wooden, extremely solid rifles) and and sabres (for the folks watching at home, it looks like a sword.) They may not be sharp, but I can promise you it hurts like HELL when you miss a catch and it slams hilt first onto your wrist. We do this in spandex, with bobby pins stabbing into our heads, and 5 pounds of makeup on our faces.

The guard works harder in one seven minute show than most people do in an entire game. We march, turn, leap, smile, spin, perform, toss, catch, count, dance, run, AND make it look good.
The marching band marches, plays, performs, plays some more, marches backwards, watches the drum major, and deals with fling pieces of equipment landing an inch from their noses.

We run during practice, we'll do 800 spins, right and left, and a water break is considered an act of love and mercy from an instructor. Our practices last three hours, with two to three practices a week, PLUS sectionals, competitions, and games.

And the icing on top? In marching band, there is NO second string. EVERYONE is important. EVERYONE has a spot on the field. Someone's missing? It's obvious, because there's a big gaping hole in the form. We don't get breaks. Standing in one spot for more than 16 counts is a godsend.

Still think Marching band is easy? I'd like to see you pick up a rifle, toss a 5, and catch it. With perfect technique. If it's so easy, it should be no problem, right?

#66 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:06pm by Wandering

#88 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:41pm by Wandering

wow. i never knew it was so hard for colorgaurd... then again, i'm in the pit. i barely move... ;)

#90 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:53pm by quackquackquac

It's hard when the guard's good. And my guard rocks, imo. It just pisses me off when people assume it's easy.

#95 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:55pm by Wandering

Actually. When we get in trouble...we do four corners. In count. Because we're drumline and I gotta say we work the hardest. Running around the field...my drum is 30% of my body weight. We march 180 beats during the drum break for well over a minute. The entire show is 8 mins.... AND.. If marching band were "so easy" people would do it for fun in their streets, like people play field hockey at home..have you ever seen a neighborhood play marching band for fun onthe weeked?!? I rest my case. Unless you've done it..you have no right to say it's easy. And just so you know, drum Corp people are doing more work in their one show than an NFL player. Statistics to proove it. Look it up. Especially drummers!!!

#122 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:00am by bmoney2011

You just made me miss high school marching band big time. I'm in colorguard in college and it's way too easy. No rifles. No sabers. Same old stupid routines.

#151 - On 09/28/2009 at 1:23am by brandnewkey

-wince- Ouch. I'd go find an independent guard. (Which I plan to do when I get to college. =D) Or pull out my rifle and be like, 'Ok y'all, it's time we showed everyone EXACTLY what a guard can do!' xD

#169 - On 09/28/2009 at 6:42am by Wandering

I agree with you. I was in color guard and band for four years, and it was def. not easy. Everyone thinks it is so easy to just dance to music and remember a few steps, but it is really hard. Every step has to be perfect and in sync with everyone else.

#172 - On 09/28/2009 at 8:42am by MiddleChild08

Go do a 6-to-5 at 180 bpm with a forty-pound sousaphone on your shoulder and THEN start making judgments kthanks.

#173 - On 09/28/2009 at 8:43am by hilsonshipper

@60. I also play field hockey for my high school too AND I'm on my high school color guard and I need to stretch, for marching band more than field hockey. Yes the condition is a little different, but while your doing suicides and running miles, were holding what my band call 'port arms' for close to an hour while learning a field show. which really hurts. Plus, handling a stick and a ball is easier,(at least for me) than handle any type of flag, drum, or instrument. Marching band is hard strenuous work and we often don't get water breaks as often and field hockey does and practicing for hours on end, during the hottest part of the day. I know my school had a month long band camp that went from 6am to 5pm with a hour break for lunch. Then i went to the field hockey try-outs which were a mere 2 hours long! So please, think before you judge!

#186 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:04pm by ami1043

I played field hockey for over 5 years, and we would have two pratices a day (during pre-season) and
our team was one of the best in the state. At my school, the band would never have to run or anything they just have longer practices (they don't suck either). If you play offense or mid you have to be constantly running back and forth. Games are an hour and when I was younger we didn't have subs so we would have to stay the entire game. I have friends in the band and I have never seen them beet-red or sweating like crazy, like people who play sports do.

#191 - On 09/28/2009 at 2:25pm by sobe23

Come to my school. By the end of the first movement we're all sweating bullets.

#198 - On 09/28/2009 at 4:58pm by Wandering

Ok, go strap on a huge bass drum, or tenor drums and march an 8 minute show. And band camp, 4 weeks (8 to 8) or more for percussion and guard. You need to stretch because staying in step at 125 plus tempos isn't so easy. Yeah, what you do is hard but don't say what we do isn't. Don't knock it till you try it honey.

#201 - On 09/28/2009 at 6:31pm by AyeOhChelsea

Wandering, you have got to be one of my fav people right now!! I'm in marching band (5th year w00t w00t!!) and some of these comments make me want to throw things!! No one really understands how difficult marching band is until they try practicing on stress fractures or sprains without so much as a 5 min. to relax. Don't knock our sport please!!

#206 - On 09/28/2009 at 10:56pm by emonemo3

Lauren?!?!?! When I saw the whole second sting thing I knew it had to be a NWHS person (As McMath says) , and with the doll as a picture I knew it had to be you! :) Funny runnin into yah!

#207 - On 09/28/2009 at 11:09pm by starralchemist90

You've never seen anyone red and sweating from marching band? Where does your band perform, inside?

If marching band isn't hard work, please, explain to me why I would lose 5-10 pounds every marching season? How about the massive biceps, triceps, and calves?

If it's so easy, why would we end up sending 5-10 players to the hospital every summer due to heat exhaustion? Why was I able to outrun the kids on our soccer team?

Band camp at my school was intense. Five hours a day in temperatures of over 100 degrees, with maybe two five-minute water breaks. I played mellophone. Though it was by no means the heaviest instrument, (here's my nod to you, sousaphones/drumline/baritones), it was still a challenge to hold up for hours at a time.

In my band, we DID run suicides. We stretched, did lunges, jumping jacks, ran laps around the field, etc.

So, please. We don't insult your sport; have some common courtesy and don't insult ours.

LIVI?!? (Guessing by the screenname)

#217 - On 09/30/2009 at 7:56am by Wandering

um....why didn't you snap it back on? It's been done before, and its not hard to snap back together(not so much by a tuba player), especially if you're wearing a dress.

BUT, if ur a DM that wears a traditional uniform, then theres no worry of n e thing popping out.

#61 - On 09/27/2009 at 9:45pm by TAHDOGG

they probably weren't popping out but just moving around as she conducted and I know that depending on the size of a girls chest it can really hurt when they move around too much without a bra to support.

#187 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:06pm by ami1043

Ah, good ol' tuba players... if they don't fuck something up they're not doing their job.

I would know; I play tuba.

lol

#67 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:07pm by Blackmist

Stretching? How hard is it to stand and wave your arms? Nobody in my band stretches before a preformance, much less the DMs.

#68 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:07pm by riku3220

Then they must have the easiest show in the world.

#70 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:09pm by Wandering

Considering drumming takes a lot of arm power, I say stretching is a good thing.

#71 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:10pm by Monado

The only people in my band I know that stretch are the color guard. The way my band marches is pretty much walking and I don't think any of you stretch to walk...

#92 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:53pm by riku3220

drum majors conduct... they don't actually play the drums.

Side note, I don't actually stretch either... mostly because i play the marimba. and you don't march with that.

#98 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:59pm by quackquackquac

In our band, we have a specific way to march, it's not just whatever. So, yes, after an 8 minute show, our calves, quads, and ankles hurt. Along with our arms because we do so many visuals, while we're playing, or during the measure breaks when we're not playing.

#105 - On 09/27/2009 at 11:15pm by Jemgirl46

That is our specific way of marching, it looks and feels like walking in an extremely small stride.

#108 - On 09/27/2009 at 11:23pm by riku3220

Yes, stretching. I'm in 8th grade and have only marched once, but I was sore afterward. You have to walk a certain way, and it really works out your legs. And all we did was walk in a straight line. We didn't even turn corners. If she had to conduct everyone else while walking backwards... -shudders-

#133 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:29am by JoonBee

I stretch like no ones business mmmkay? Marching around with a snare drum is not easy. To practice we march fundamentals for hours. We all stretch every time we practice (Mon-tues 2 hours, wed 1.5, Thursday 2.5, and Friday footballlll!) and we run half a mile plus whatever marching we do. Our drill is writtin by the same guy who writes for cavaliers. It's awesome drill, our show is "Jesus Christ superstar" :) and we won best drumline Saturday yayyy! Actually..we won every award except best drum majors. Lmao. They suck, but what do they expect they never practice, and drumlines outside during band class too (marching and cleaning music). That's an extra 2 hours right there!! You HAVE to stretch...well if you don't have too then your show is fukan easy as heck.

#148 - On 09/28/2009 at 1:11am by bmoney2011

@bmoneyy yeahh. where do you go?

#204 - On 09/28/2009 at 10:18pm by bekahshae

O man i know how that is, our marching band is doing songs by journey this year and our preformance is hard core, crap like that is always happening to us, luckily band kids are pretty resourceful lol ^_^ good luck at your other competitions- Sierra

Band boobs!

My boobs were in the orchestra [: but ouch OP. No girl wants this drama :[ Except mebbe Lindsay

#75 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:17pm by mercyFML

The stretching was for her arms, not her legs. And if you're saying that waving your hands around is easy, your an idiot. I'd like to see them wave their arms in the same exact, precise pattern, non-stop for about 8-9 minutes.

#76 - On 09/27/2009 at 10:23pm by Best_Loser

ok people listen up! I'm in band right now and we just had a game! we won btw if anyone cares! but anywho, one of our drummajors is a girl and I for one am a girl too! we wear normal bras and the same fucking uniforms as the guys!! my friend likes to snap my bra straps too, but it's hard to do underneath all the material, so I really doubt this is a true post, unless, of course, u wear different uniforms than we do. that's all chicas!

FAKE!!!!!!!!!!! there aren't Any tubas in marching band. Any drum major would know that. They are sousaphones so this is total bs. How do I know this? I am a sousaphone. And a drum major will have a uniform that matches the bands unless the school is a shithole and doesn't carehow the band looks we need a delete button for theese fake fml's

#106 - On 09/27/2009 at 11:15pm by dannymaxx

"The sousaphone is a type of tuba that is widely employed in marching bands"

That was the first sentence on the Sousaphone page of Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sousaphone

#107 - On 09/27/2009 at 11:19pm by riku3220

Seriously, you're such a fucking dumbass. Have you even been to a band competition before?

Schools that don't have access to sousaphones use tubas. They carry them on their shoulders. So sorry not all schools are fucking rich enough for you.

And when the show is themed, many bands have the drum major wear costumes related to the theme.

You obviously have no clue what you're talking about.

tubas rock

#117 - On 09/27/2009 at 11:40pm by hoolio1717

1) bre_whatever...elementary school is WAY different than high school. And in elementary it's still called just percussion. Not drumline. Iknow this because i'm in drumline.

2) she probably knows they're called sousaphones, easier to call them tubas tho, and they still are.

3) idk what your high schools do...but in Texas most serious bands the drum majors wear an actual uniform. They're a different style but still. As in the jacket might be all black...

4) rarely does a high school march tubas over theshoulder. That's drum Corp stuff right there baby! LOL. Go Carolina Crown!!!!

5) I was at the esprit de Corp musicbfestival (burnet, Texas) this Saturday.. We got best drumline!!!! WHAT'S UP!! Copperas Cove, Texas FTW!!

6) she should have worn a sports bra if she's got DD... I don't but I don't have huge knockers sooooo that's not necessary lmao.

7) ....drumline (snare line) FTW!!!!

#118 - On 09/27/2009 at 11:48pm by bmoney2011

Obviously her boobs didn't fall out of her uniform or they wouldve had to stop because, well, that's obvious. And I'm in 8th grade band and when we march we wear white polo shirts so it would be very noticable if your bra malfunctioned. I'm pretty sure the high school is the same. So everyone needs to stop calling this fake because youre just misreading her FML.
That really sucks, though. Sorry you had to go through that.

Guys, stop saying this is fake. I'm a female drum major of my high school band, and I wear a black gown. This is actually rather common in bands with a single female drum major. I can totally understand how much it would have sucked to not have a bra.

And YES you do need to stretch. Anyone who has gone an entire day of band camp conducting run-throughs of the show understands how bad your arms and shoulders hurt afterwards. If a drum major doesn't stretch her upper body first, she's in for some serious hurt later. I had to go home and take advil and a warm bath every day after my first few weeks as drum major.

And Wandering, I love your post. (:

Oh, and yes they can be called Tubas. We have sousaphones and always refer to them as tubas. Not to mention there are also marching tubas.

#143 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:45am by GMUoboe

Maybe you can be the mascot -- the band's mammary glands.

#144 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:52am by doof_fisch

#166 - On 09/28/2009 at 6:08am by integrababy

Okay, im in band with this girl, and need to clear up some things.
1- this did really happen.
2- if you think that marching is easy, go do it yourself. We have to play like the New York philharmonic while running a marathon. Slightly exaggerated, but you get my point. It's at least as demanding as high school varsity sports.
3- yes, we do use tubas. NOT sousaphones. The tubas are concert tubas that have a lead pipe.
4- Her boobs were not falling out of her uniform, but jiggling around while shewas conducting.
5- the DMs wear the same uniforms the band members do, just different colors.
6- YDI for being in marching band? Get a life.

#177 - On 09/28/2009 at 10:09am by tbonegeek

NICE

#181 - On 09/28/2009 at 11:11am by DanishDude

what i don't understand is why people think marching band is so easy. i'm marching in a college marching band, after 3 years of high school marching band, and believe me, it is even harder. telling people YDI for just being in marching band, you need to just fall off the face of the earth. you have no idea what we do everyday during practices, sectionals, performances (games and competitions), plus anything else we are asked to do, like parades.

don't believe me? Youtube "Pride of Arizona 2009." you know, one of the top five marching bands of 2008, we're back and better than ever

@ OP: that sucks, but thats what you get for letting a tuba player help you stretch.

but i also should add fuck marching band

#189 - On 09/28/2009 at 12:31pm by hemilover52

Haha that sucks! My senior year while conducting our show for Finals of a contest, my bra came undone on its own. Makes it even more fun when you climb off the front podium. Run mid-field to play a solo. Run the the back podium, and then have to run around the end zones to get back to the front. I hope that doesn't happen again. It's so awkward even if people don't notice :)

#192 - On 09/28/2009 at 2:44pm by RockTheArts2007

That does suck, I was drum major also, but I always wore a sports bra, because I had on a uniform, but this would suck to have your bra undone in front of thousands of people

so people need to lay off. and i do feel bad for youu. atleast eight minutes of your boobs hanging out while conducting does suckk.
