#1 you fail. OP that sucks for you such nice friends you have. Make him pay for your hotel until you find somewhere new
(0)He got to a computer to report this so I think so.
(-17)Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
YDI, you dumbass bitch for not keeping up with the lease of where you lived.
Also you a fucking bigass nigger liar!!!!!!!!
If you are in a parking lot in the rain you couldnt be on a laptop or phone.
(+1)#26, get your biggER racist ass off of the site. No one wants to read that shit.
OP - Impressive. That is, impressive lack of communication with your roommate, lack of sympathy from your landlord, and lack of brain on your part for not knowing when the lease ends. Sorry. My condolences, but Y definitely DI.
(0)Okay /you're/ a dumb ass idiot apparently. Have you never heard of fucking WiFi?
OP: That sucks big time. I hope somehow you can get this resolved. I say FYL because your roommate decided to screw you over like that. I know you're supposed to check up on the lease and whatnot, and to notice that there's a lack of someone else there, but it's human to forget things.
I guess it's also a YDI for not keeping up with the lease though. *contradictions*
(0)have you ever heard rain kills laptops and most electronics?
(-1)YDI for not knowing when your lease ends, if you are going to have the responcibility of having an apartment, then you need to know these things. Idiot
(0)marz, How did I fail? By being nice and hoping that his stuff isn't ruined?
(0)Sorry I didn't mean that towards you I could swear I saw someone post the word "first" my bad.
(0)wow. first, i bet your the first one of your lineage to walk upright. get off of here, no one likes a troll. second; i hope karma comes and whoops your ass, u ass-licking, dick-sucking mofo. good day, sir.
(0)Wow, marz. That's some serious paranoia you have going on there if your first instinct is to bash the person if you think they even hinted at the word 'first'. You should get that checked out. :|
(0)but you could have some sort of cover. but i think hes lieing becuase if something that bad happened to me, i wouldnt want to type it up on fml dotcom
this is an old fml... fml is reposting their first fml posts....lol (go to the very last page and you will see all these posts are old)
#111 - On 08/05/2009 at 1:37am by mg_2490
(0)#26 if he was on the phone he could be in the parking lot. He could however be lying about the raining part to get sympathy.
(0)It's okay lol. I agree paranoia.
While the first is annoying, I don't get why people get so worked up when people actually have a message and say first. No offence.
(0)Life has got to suck for you. Sorry... Hope you stay safe in Chicago :)
(0)I agree with #126
(0)sice when do you have to move out when your lease is up my lease ran out over a year ago it automatically converts to a month to month rental agreement still have to give 60 days notice to move out on either side
(+1)I agree, your roommate probably had more faith in you as a human being and didn't think it was necessary to tell you that your lease was going to be up soon. YDI!
(+1)YDI for not keeping track of your own lease... stop going through life expecting other people to do things for you.
(0)#26 go jump in a lake. and way to go OP; don't blame your roommate for not telling you when the lease ended. it was your responsibility to remember, not only his. And from what I am reading, you are sitting outside with all YOUR belongings, implying that your roommate already jetted, and if that's the case, he's more responsible than you are. and I love how the first thing you do after getting kicked out, sitting in the rain with all of your belongings is go on the internet, log in on the website and type in your FML, instead of taking shelter.
(-2)How can you be on your computer when it's raining.
(0)Maybe he's using his phone.
(0)hes probably just exagerrating, well lieing when he says in carpark
but still fYL indeed, and screw the heartless landlord for throwing you like that on the spot
(0)that what i was thinking..
(0)He probably has an iPhone or something and stealing someone's Wifi.
#108 - On 08/05/2009 at 12:45am by Eternity
(0)No, if he was in this situation, he wouldn't just up and leave to go post it on fmylife.com. It's far more likely that this happened a while ago, and the OP only posted it today, but of course you MUST for some reason start all FMLs with the word "Today"
(0)OR he could have a blackberry or motoQ and be using the internet that goes through the cell phone towers. most phones get that now
(0)Landlord cannot just evict you, even if the lease ends. He/she will need to go through a court procedure to have you thrown out. So you could've stayed. Buy, YDI indeed for not knowing your lease terms.
(+1)y are u typing up FMLs in the parking lot?
get ur shit together yo..
(+2)That's how the FMLs are written.... doesn't mean that he is currently sitting outside in the rain right now. He is probably describing the situation when it happened. THINK!
(0)THANK YOU!
I can't believe how stupid some people are.
(0)The problem is that the OP says "I am NOW standing..." (emphasis mine). You typically don't say now when you meant a few hours ago.
However, common sense would suggest that the OP is just exaggerating about that or possibly using his/her phone.
(0)Well, all FMLs have to start with "today," even if they didn't happen that day. It's not too much of a stretch to change the tense of the FML to *right now* even if it happened a while ago.
(0)Could be on his phone. (;
#7 - On 08/04/2009 at 7:21pm by caancoha
(0)Wow that really sucks, I hope everything eventually works out! :)
(0)Well, FYL for that happening, but YDI, also... that's why you don't rely 100% on other people. C'mon, step up a little... Keep an eye on that stuff...
Though, FYL more than anything for douchey room mate.
(+1)Didn't you notice your roommate had moved out with all his stuff three days ago? And why is your landlord so uncompromising? He just made you move all your stuff out? Is your place in terrible condition or something? This is definitely a YDI.
(0)I was wondering the same thing. Wouldn't all his roommates stuff be moved out... and wouldn't the OP get a little curious as to why?
(0)Maybe you should put your phone or whatever away & get your stuff in the car, (:
#11 - On 08/04/2009 at 7:22pm by kyasariin
(0)If all your roommate's belongings were outside as well, I'd hide them...
just to show my appreciation towards their awesome sense of communication.
(0)hey #17, only you suck bull cock, that's not normal, no matter what that farmer says. Also, I think there's a pretty good chance that the roommate didn't move out yet, otherwise the OP would have been tipped off to that fact that something was happening. Yeah, he might be a dumb ass who isn't bothered by half the furniture being gone. But maybe the roommate hasn't moved either or the OP owned most of the furniture and didn't even notice the roommate's toaster was gone. Instead of being a a douche to random people on the internet because you're a cowardly prick in the real world, why don't you work on getting the other half of your brain, since you're clearly missing at least that much.
(0)...If the lease is over, they both have to leave. If the roommate knew the lease was over he probably did move out already.
(0)You know bloodthorn, I can't really deserve it if I'm not the one telling the FML. And I'm thinking if that's the way you talk to girls then a lot of them probably don't like you. And I was going for sarcastic humor to be honest, douchebag.
(0)How does that make any sense?
(0)#36...Have you HAD a horrible roommate? If not, try it. THEN you'll get it. (Freshman year...O.o disaster)
(0)When you moved in didn't you have to sign a lease/sublease agreement? That would have clearly stated the term of the lease and anything else you would need to know about living there. Even if you were only staying with an acquaintance and paying him rent directly, how did you not notice that they weren't there and that they took their stuff with them? I find this hard to believe for several reasons...
(0)well now is an opportunity to get REALLY creative and build yourself a tent/cave out of your stuff, so u can keep outta the rain.... u could even hunt for food.
OR even smarter, you could get in your car/call a cab.
(0)LOL I cant totally picture what happened
(0)I just wonder why your posting this here and not on rent.com?
(0)... You are now standing in the rain, typing on a laptop?
#21 - On 08/04/2009 at 7:37pm by 9k5
(0)Who said it was a laptop?
(0)Then... He's standing in the rain typing on an er... non-laptop-computer?
#70 - On 08/04/2009 at 10:28pm by 9k5
(0)or he's using his phone....
either that or a "non-laptop-computer".
(0)Since you wrote "our lease ended", I am assuming your name was also on the lease. How did you not know how long you signed a lease for? Plus, most apartment places will send you information about resigning a new lease with them before your current one expires; usually the month before expiration. I find it hard to believe you didn't notice your roommate moving all of his belongings out.
(0)YDI. How the hell did you not know when it expired?
(0)agreed, your roomate was moved out, they would have sent you notices, you would have known when it expired, can i just say the FML's today have sucked
(0)That frakking sucks. You can't trust anyone these days. :(
(+1)Wtf, so your out with all your stuff..its raining..and the first thing you think of is to post this on Fmylife?
Sorr,y but that wouldn't be the first thing I would jump to do.
(0)Maybe this happened a few days ago, we don't know. It might just be written that way since it sounds better.
(+1)Did you not notice your roommate move out three days ago? Or how about them packing their stuff before that?
Do you usually not see your roommate for three days?
Shouldn't you have known when your lease was ending?
I don't think getting kicked out is your only problem...
#29 - On 08/04/2009 at 7:54pm by GetDOnV
(0)How the hell do you not know when your lease ends?
(0)YDI. You're living there so you should know about the lease. It was kind of sucky of your roommate not to tell you, but it's not his/her job. Maybe s/he assumed that you would be on top of it, ya know, like you should have been?
#31 - On 08/04/2009 at 7:57pm by jet
(0)Not that responding to trolls makes a damn difference.
But.
Please stop being a racist, idiotic fucking loser. Asshole.
(0)You didn't think that the lease would end a year after you moved in?? How the hell do you live somewhere and not know when your lease ends? YDI.
(0)YDI. How did you not know when your lease was up? It's not your roommate's job to keep track of those things for you. Pay attention to your own life.
#34 - On 08/04/2009 at 8:05pm by deaditegirl
(0)Don't believe it.
1) You didn't notice your friend moved out for 3 days? And his belongings in living room gone?
2) The landlord should have came and check the place before giving back the damage deposit.
3) Most likely the Landlord would have lined up another tenant before start of the month. My landlord had potential tenant come and see the place before I moved out. They won't lose a month's rent.
4) Lastly, why didn't you pay the rent for this month?
(0)Didn't you notice your roommate gone?
(0)your roomate sounds like a total douche muncher
(0)fake!
(0)I'm confused on several counts:
If it's also YOUR lease for YOUR apartment ("Our lease" implies you signed it too), how do you not know when it ends? Even if you were just paying the person you were living with, I'm sure he told you when the lease was up...and that would definetly be something to remember.
It had to be obvious your roommate was no longer living there, due to lack of belongings as well as physical presence. It's also something you would think would be mentioned in casual conversation..."hey man, where you gonna live once our lease is up next week?"...
I know all FMLS start with "today" but you wrote at the end of the FML you were standing in the rain...as you were writing the FML...with all your stuff. Loser.
Your life is fucked...but for completely different reasons.
Side note: Maybe it's just me, but a lot of these seem to be more whining about stuff people had complete control over than FMLs recently. Sad :(
(0)I agree! You can't not sign a lease and not know what day it ends. And you can't not notice you are now without a roomie, and their stuff. I'm calling fake.
(0)how are you using electricety in the rain?
(0)how on earth do you not know when your lease ends?
(0)#44 I so agree
Don't they send a notice letter or something?
#45 - On 08/04/2009 at 8:44pm by CandyRox1234
(0)YDI for not knowing when your own lease ended! Take some responsibility for your life, maybe??? And yeah, when did your roommate move out, and how did you not notice? You definitely deserved this one!
(+1)FYL OP your roommate is a douche.
Also I'd like to point out it is Shark week this week, and it is awsome.
(0)You should be doing something besides posting on FML.
(0)And so...you pull out your laptop and go on FML.com
fail.
(0)while its messed up that your friend didn't tell you. next time you might want to find out that info when you first move in.
(0)you should've ended with something like "and I just payed the bills.FML."
(0)That would suck, but Most of the time, when people live somewhere though, they tend to be aware of the lease ending.. etc. The landlord would talk to them about it, about extedning it.
(:
#57 - On 08/04/2009 at 9:30pm by Mariahhh_
(+1)My question isn't so much how you didn't know when your lease was up
but more so
how you didn't realize your roommate had moved out.
(0)you have rights check them out,he can not just put you out on the streets
(0)His lease was up. He was no longer paying to live there. So yes, the landlord can put him out on the streets.
(0)maybe he was in his car??
(0)you are standing in the parking lot with your things in the rain...and somehow manage to upload this fml?? fake
(0)oh nvm, he was STANDING ok
(0)You didn't even know when your lease ended?? You shouldn't have to rely on your roommate to do that for you. YDI
(0)For fucks sake, for everyone who is like "lol wtf rain ruins laptops dummy how you on FML idiot lmao" shut the fuck up. You sound retarded.
(0)This makes no sense. My lease for my current place ends this month and 1) I was sent a letter 2 months prior to it ending. 2) they asked if I was resigning every time I went to pay rent and 3) my roommates and I have talked about nothing other than where we are living when it ends.
#73 - On 08/04/2009 at 10:42pm by Lauriebug
(0)um why was your roommate supposed to tell you ...ITS IN YOUR LEASE DUMBASS
(0)so you decided to bring out your laptop right there in the parking lot??
(0)In the rain too. What a brave soul.
#82 - On 08/04/2009 at 11:09pm by koda
(+1)He could have been paying the roomate on a month to month basis. It's not necessarily legal but it happens all the time. He could have been staying with his roomate and paying the roomate rent. The roomate could have 'moved' out earlier in the summer and forgot to tell him when the apartment was ending....
(0)You poor poor man.
(0)this is total bullshit. wouldnt his roommates stuff be all gone? doesnt make sense at all.
(0)lies lies lies
uhh wouldn't your roommates stuff be gone??
how are you on the computer writing this??
(0)you should sue him
(0)'kay first of all, it's called an itouch or a cell phone. those don't tend to get ruined in the rain... or i hope or else i'm screwed.
and yeah how could you not know your lease is up...? are you that dumb? but fyl and ydi.... if that's possible.
(0)...I think you're screwed.
(0)LOOK AT ME I'M AN IDIOT DURR HOW ARE YOU ON A COMPUTER DURR???????????????
(0)Regardless of why you were out in the rain, it was your fault because a landlord doesn't have the legal right to physically remove you from the residence unless there have been legal proceedings and, usually, an officer to escort you out. If you left on your own, well, sucks to be uninformed.
As bad as that may be for a landlord who wants his property vacated, there are laws that prevent him from throwing you into the street.
(0)Well, there's such thing as a cell phone...he doesn't have to be using a computer...remedial...just...remedial..
#90 - On 08/04/2009 at 11:28pm by Sam9807
(0)At least no one else was moving in - or is that why you had to vacate immediately?
Well, nothing you can do about it now, except learn from it.
(+1)haha if you really were in the parking lot then i think you'd have more important things on your mind than "dude, i gotta put this on fml!"
(0)How do you not know the date that your lease ends? If your name was on the lease, you should have known when it ended. YDI
(0)yeah right the last thing you'd be thinking about when your wet in the parking lot is entering it on FML. loser
(0)Didn't you notice that your roommate doesn't live with you anymore?
(0)Yeah sorry but you totally deserved this. It isn't your roommate's responsibility to tell you these things. You should be aware of when your lease is up if you're going to be renting an apartment. And really, wouldn't you notice that all of your roommate's stuff was gone? Just saying. It sucks that you got stuck in the rain, but you should have known when the lease to the apartment you're renting is up.
(0)I totally moderated this one lol.
OP, you're pretty screwed. Awful choice of roommate though.
(0)i think his choice of roommate was actually pretty good. he knew when the lease was up and was responsible enough to move out when it was up. the op should know when his lease ends.
(0)Sucks
#100 - On 08/04/2009 at 11:54pm by person1000003
(0)1 question: your outside with everything in the rain how are you posting this .....
(0)You deserve it. If you have a room mate, wouldn't you notice that he's not there anymore and his things aren't there? And if it's raining, how are you posting this? If I were in your position, I wouldn't be posting FML's, I'd be looking for a place to stay.
(0)I think this person is okay now considering they were able to get online, which is good. I'm glad their stuff isn't ruined and they've found a place to live. hopefully
(0)That sucks. :( But the first thing you decide to do after being kicked out is to stand in the rain and type this on FML?
(0)it seems like if i just got kicked out of my house i wouldn't be worried about telling every one on FML about it immediately. perhaps i would find some shelter or something first.
(0)Wow fyl
(0)What the hell of your roommate!
(0)If your name WAS on the lease then the Landlord has to give you 30 days to Vacate. If it wasn't, and he was paying his roommate, then He's screwed, and the landlord can legally immediately evict him and his belongings.
(0)If you have an apartment you are adult enough to keep track of this stuff yourself. No one is going to hold your hand through life and make sure you keep up. Grow a pair, dust off, and get to being a grown-up.
(0)Hey, three days of free living space. You could do worse.
(0).... YDI
(0)Cant you realize your roomate wasnt living in the place anymore? And how can you type the fml if it was raining?
(0)To all of you asking how the OP is typing in the rain let me introduce you to the umbrella.
#121 - On 08/05/2009 at 4:17am by EMR
(0)FML can easily be accessed on any phone with internet. there's an FML app on iPod/iPhone. this doesn't mean that the OP is lying.
(0)wouldn't you notice your roommates furniture is missing...?
(0)How about doing something about it instead of FML-ing...?
THAT might get you somewhere.
(0)EWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
(0)How in the hell did you not know your lease was up??? That's just lazy dumbassery!
Even if you were month to month and paying the roommate under the table and not on the lease, etc......HOW DID YOU NOT NOTICE THAT YOUR ROOMMATE MOVED OUT???
Yeah, YDI.
(0)I agree with #126
(0)firstly...your a moron for not checking your lease....
secondly..instead of getting to a computer and writing about this on fmylife.com...u shud be calling someone so u have a place to crash instead of standing in a parking lot while its raining...
YDI
(0)At least you have Internet .
(0)You're using your smartphone in the rain? That's not very bright.
(0)sorry dude, couda happen to anyone,
i get preoccupied with other stuff as well
(0)"I am now standing in the parking lot with all my belongings, and it is raining, and my laptop is getting wet while I'm writing this."
(0)Wow, you so very much deserved this one.
How are you so thick that you don't know when your lease ends? I don't care if you're not the primary on the lease, but you should have a goddamn clue.
Enjoy being homeless for a few days, dumbass!
(0)What Dose OP Mean ?
(0)OP means Original Poster or Original Post.
(0)So... you find posting it on FML more important than finding a place to stay?
#145 - On 08/05/2009 at 6:01pm by paper_flowers
(0)Wow, your landlord is a dick.
(0)and your on a computer in the parkin lot? fake.
(0)yeah, right. He connected his desktop computer outside just to post this.
(0)Fake.
Something tells me, someone who was just kicked out of their home would have better things to do then post of FMyLife.
(0)not as bad as mine man. i got kicked out of my apartment, and they kept everything, except for the clothes on my back! Im talking about my BED, DRESSER, Fouton, Closet full of clother. and fucking FULL STAKK AMP!!!! it was 6 feet tall and about 120 watt head. and it is gone. TV,s 2 couches, you're lucky you still have your stuff.
(0)Yeah, uh huh... you just got kicked out of an apartment and you're sitting in the parkinglot typing on FML? FAAAAKE. People who believe this are retards...
If, by some freakish twist of the universe, this is really real, and you're really retarded enough to post this on FML while leaving all your possessions unwatched, how could you not know when your own lease ends?
Maybe it makes sense... I guess you could just be all-around stupid...
(0)i agree with this being fake, even if you were in a wi-fi area on an iphone or something, the last thing you would want to do is stop and go on fmylife.com to post this.
(+1)What the heck is your problem, besides the fact that you can't type properly?
You are just proof that racism will always be an issue.
#159 - On 08/06/2009 at 3:31pm by GetDOnV
(0)U shuld probs get off the cpu before it gets wet.
(0)So u standing in the parking lot, in the rain, on a laptop, phone, or some other type of expensive electronic device? GET INDOORS DUMBASS!!
(0)How did you not notice your roommate packing and moving all of his/her stuff out of your apartment as well?
YDI
(0)Wouldn;t you have noticed that your roommate was packing and moving out? And if you signed the lease, shouldn't you know when it was up? I mean, you shouldn't sign something without reading it first. And if you really are standing outside in the rain, why and how are you posting on this site? Rain + electronics = not good.
(0)so you're outside in the rain and on some type of electronic?
#161 - On 08/08/2009 at 1:28am by blxerb98
(0)Wouldn't that be hilarious if there was lightning.
Double Whammy
(0)so the first thing you do is write about it on FML... why?
