Today, I came home at noon from a long night out. I was surprised to see a woman I didn't recognize standing in my living room in a brown dress and heels. As I walked up to the door and knocked to be let in, the woman whipped around and I figured out who it was. My dad. FML

In college, I went home with my roommate when her father wasn't expecting her and caught him dressed like a woman. He ran from the room and made us promise not to tell her mother. Also, I've seen a few documentaries/books where it mentions some transgendered people and some crossdressers overdo it presenting as their biological sex when they're still 'in the closet' for obvious cloakish reasons, and the present male gender role is a bit.. strict from what I've read.

God as written in the Bible does not hate gays. Following the same ancient standards, you could argue that the Christian God still hates rape victims. Just as warnings against eating shellfish and being in the same room as a menstruating woman were a response to the hygiene of the times, admonishments against homosexuality (and wanting to stone rape victims to death, if their father wasn't paid a fine by the rapist for spoiling his "property") were just a response to securing proper male heirs and procreation at any cost.

I'm not gonna lie, I'd be freaked out too if I saw my dad cross dressing when I didn't expect it. Right now, the only thing you can really do is to keep an open mind and accept your father for who he is.
The only reason this is considered an FML is because our society still views crossdressing as extremely weird. It really should be considered a perfectly legitimate form of self-expression. I'm very sad that so many people say they wouldn't view their dad in the same way ever again and such simply because he enjoys donning female attire.
