Today, I had a basketball game against our rivals. Since the starting guard had a broken ankle, I felt happy that I could finally get playing time and prove that I'm good. Instead I had to run the scoreboard for the game, because the scoreboard guy was absent. FML

Inked2009, (sorry i cant reply using the iphone app) it's not an fml because he missed the game. It's an fml because the OP never gets to play, and the one time he gets the chance they find a reason not to let him.

because the coaches are douchebags.
Happened to me in high school except with football. When the starting cornerbacks got hurt, instead of putting me in they put in everyone who was worse than me, and even called up 2 freshmen instead of putting me in because I wasn't black. And yes, that was the reason.

if your that good you wouldnt be warming the bench and if you want to prove to your team your good practice beat some of your teammates in b ball and let everyone see what you can do or you wont get your respect dude...

So it's not so much that "you" had a game against "your" rivals as much as the team that let's you watch their games from close up and hold the bench in place for them are playing against their rivals. Don't you have practices to show off your stealth-moves there super fly? Watch out Kobe and LeBron!!

You should have said no. When or if they punished you, bring it up with the school or quit the team. They're not worth it - and by they, I mean the people who asked and thought you should do that instead of play.
