Today, I was cleaning my father's study room and wondering why I did not receive my acceptance/rejection letter from a college I really wanted. I found the acceptance letter, on his desk, also approving of a full scholarship. The deadline to confirm was a month ago. FML

Today, my parents gave me a letter they'd forgotten about since late last year. In it was a $30,000 scholarship to a local master's program with an application due date of two weeks ago. FML
Today, I found out that my dad, thinking it was an advertisement, threw away a letter from the college I applied to. FML
Today, I received my acceptance letter to one of the most prestigious universities in the US, as well as a nice scholarship. I was so proud of myself, I eagerly showed my dad, hoping he would shed a tear or two. His only words were, "Just get a job so you can get the hell out of my house." FML
Today, I was accepted to the college of my dreams. Then I checked the address. Turns out, the letter was meant for my neighbor. I was actually denied. FML
Today, I got a large envelope from a college I applied to earlier. My mom, expecting big news, made my family gather round as I opened it. It ended up being a letter of rejection from not just that school, but all three campuses of the state college. FML
Today, I received yet another rejection letter from a college I'd applied to. After crying for a week about how lousy I felt, my older sister gave me all 6 of the acceptance letters she'd been hiding. Turns out she's been forging rejection letters and keeping the real ones in her room. FML
Today, I borrowed my dad's laptop to type an essay. While I was saving it, I noticed some curious looking files and I opened them. They were rejection letters from all the colleges I had applied to. My dad had been forging them so he wouldn't have to pay for my tuition bills. FML
Today, I was supposed to hear back from a major scholarship competition. After months of waiting, during which my parents were convinced I had won, I discovered that my entry had never been received. Apparently the woman I had confirmed with had had a long day, and lied so that she could go home. FML
Today, I got an email from a Scholarship Program reminding me that they had rejected me 3 months ago. Thanks for reminding me I might not make it to college. FML
Today, I received a rejection letter from a college that I'd applied to 6 years ago. FML

I agree. A couple credit cards and a few hundred dollars aren't that big of a deal... But in all honesty, the dad has some serious explaining.

That's ****** up. Your dad is a ******* moron. He better not complain about having to pay for college. But, you should've contacted the college if you hadn't heard from them in a timely fashion. There is also an element of "this is fake" here, because colleges that give out full rides usually contact you via e-mail, phone, and other sources as well.

If it is true however, and she did get a full scholarship, her father should pay for her to go to her college of choice(Even if she has to wait a year) and living expenses, no matter how much debt it puts him in. That's what he would have caused her.

if he didnt tell you about it and bitches about paying for college, FYL if you didnt inquire about the colleges before the deadlines, YDI but like #4 said, FULL ride scholarships usually (as in every case) contact you through almost all other sources too

most colleges these days also allow u to check your acceptance status on their school website, even if you don't have full ride scholarships. plus, if you have ANY friends whatsoever in your grade also doing college apps, you should know when the deadline was, and freak out at least a week or two before the deadline to find out if you even made it in or not. however, if this were true, your dad is ****** up.
