Today, I was helping my wife bring in the groceries. She was able to carry 4 bags and a jug of milk. I was struggling with 2 bags. FML

Knackered
Today, when I got home from work exhausted and literally ready to fall over, my mom had me carry several heavy bags of dog food for her. Yesterday, it was coals; before that it was horse feed and gas bottles. Before that, I'd just asked her to keep the hard, physical work to the weekends. FML
Drive
Today, my wife suddenly texted me to meet her halfway between our house and the supermarket. I immediately put my shoes on and started walking, eager to get to her as fast as I could to surprise her. Turns out she was carrying three heavy bags and yelled at me for being slow and by foot. FML
Today, I went to the supermarket; it was taking me ages to walk home because of the heavy food bags. Halfway home, I realised I had gone in my car. I had to walk all the way back to get my car. FML
Today, I saw a very attractive young woman struggling with some boxes. The seduction attempt resulted in me carrying 60lbs of items for 30mins. When we got to her apartment, she thanked me and introduced me to her boyfriend. FML
Bad call
Today, I tried to carry all my grocery bags in one trip. I was doing great until the plastic handles stretched and snapped in the parking lot. A carton of eggs exploded, an avocado rolled under a car, and a bottle of wine shattered. Someone asked if I needed help. I said no because I was too embarrassed. FML
Overconfident
Today, I tried carrying all my groceries inside in one trip. I succeeded, but also succeeded in tearing the handles, dropping everything, and rolling a can of soup straight under my neighbor’s car. Never trust cheap tote bags. FML
Today, my husband got mad at me for not helping take out the groceries from the car. He yelled that I'm lazy, and that he regrets our marriage. I guess he forgot that the door handle on that side is broken and he had to let me out of the car. FML
Carry her home
Today, I helped an elderly woman push her grocery cart around the store, and look for her vehicle after she'd paid. After we spent ages wandering around trying to find her car, she remembered that she'd taken the bus today. FML
Help!
Today, I was strolling past an old women when from behind me she called, "Can you help me get the rest of the groceries out of the car?" I approached the car, and helped her unload bags. She began hitting me, screaming, "SOMEONE IS STEALING MY THINGS". She was actually asking her son in the car. FML
Today, I was trying to exercise more, so I went for a walk. I was quickly overtaken by a middle-aged lady with cankles, carrying heavy shopping bags in each hand. I'm 19, skinny, and apparently very unfit. FML

Time to go to the gym........
Fatwahhh 10
this really depends on what was in the bags. It's still not a big deal though. Women can be stronger too.

Time to go to the gym........
Pleonasm 35
He doesn't need to if he can accept the fact that his wife is stronger than him, also assuming that her bags weighed a higher total weight than his.
zidiko 10
Maybe he was just carrying two really heavy bags?
RollingCakes 21
Or he could just practice with the groceries at home, rather than spend money on a gym membership.
JustinKirby 20
Yeah it all depends what was in his 2 bags
buttcramp 21
maybe the wife just has more practice with doing the grocery shopping. sure it sucks but at least your wife has it goin' on, OP!

Time to hit the gym pal. I'm awaiting all the "do you even lift" comments.

Do you even lift yo?

I lift... every time I go empty my bladder.

Conceded much?
laurenasabutton 26
Do you mean conceited?

Well that depends on what the bags contained. However, it was something lighter then what she had you are really weak man.
datkenna 20
Or she's a bodybuilder... Because I don't know anyone that can carry 4 milk jugs at once...
marinegal 22
It is not at all difficult to carry 4 milk jugs but that isn't what the FML said.
AlaskanG 27
#48, I don't think I know anyone who CAN'T carry 4 milk jugs at once...
crazytwinsmom 25
Technique matters too. You can carry a lot more by sliding some bags up your arms.
rgearon 8
Clearly OP cannot.

You read the fml wrong. she was carrying 4 bags AND a jug of milk. so it could be anything, light or heavy.
hurricanemonster 9
It doesn't matter what was in the bags. Any man should be able to carry 2 bags easily no matter what.

I beg to differ, boxes of cat litter, ever carried those? I go to the gym 4 days a week and those are still a bitch to carry, some things are just ridiculously heavy, and keep in mind she could be carrying bags of paper towel... And other light stuff.
justmeCee 16
Really? Last week I carried a 7kg bucket of cat litter, along with two 12 packs of water, four 6 packs of 710 ml pop, and a few other random things from the store to my house, trudging through the snow and extreme cold. About a 20 minute walk. I'm only 106 pounds. Lol. I used a backpack and enviro bags tho.

Punk ass.
HersheySquirts 17
How does "punk ass" have anything to do with this FML? Please inform me.
Mandaeryn 10
I thought it was pretty obvious. No matter what's in those bags, he should at least be able to carry two. If not, sounds like he's a little bitch. How does that not make sense? Please inform me.

Well aren't you judgmental 132.
michaeljackson69 6
Are you sure your wife wasn't helping you carry the groceries in? But it's most definitely time to hit that gym OP.
NineInchSacks 11
Is it just me, or does the first part of this comment not make sense?
HersheySquirts 17
Yes it's just you...everyone else completely comprehended it.

#87 Just you.

Thanks #118, but #98s comment sufficed.

Maybe you should just put the groceries away instead

Maybe your bags were just heavier than hers. Or your wife is just very physically strong for a woman. Myself doing martial arts I'm pretty strong for a female. Don't let it get you down. Not all women are going to be weaker than the average guy.
EdenCrystal 21
Women aren't drastically weaker than men. I have no idea why everyone thinks that, but for a woman to be considered "very strong" simply because she can carry a lot of groceries at once, well, that is just incredibly insulting. And please, if you want to say that a woman is strong, DO NOT add on "for a woman", she is just strong. When people say stuff like "she is very strong, for a woman", it really pisses me off.
kieralumina 30
thank you. I was getting tired of all the "either you're a weak man or she's a bodybuilder" comments.
