Today, I bought an automatic air refresher. I put the can and batteries in, and it promptly sprayed a blast of its scent down my throat. Now I can't breathe without tasting it. FML

Same thing different taste
Today, I was trying to change the batteries of my automatic room freshener. As I held it to my face to figure out where the batteries went, it started spraying on my face. FML
Today, I was maced. Not by a person, but rather by one of those automatic air fresheners in the bathroom. It was conveniently placed at eye level, you know, for freshness. FML
Today, I was at a friend's house. She has one of those automatic air fresheners, and I was amazed when it went off. To get a better look at it, I got real close to it. I saw a button and pressed it. The air freshener went off again, spraying nothing but my eye. FML
Been there before
Today, I'm so chronically sleep-deprived that I sprayed a bathroom air freshener under my arms instead of my deodorant. FML
Today, my parents installed an air freshener above the toilet. While I was standing to pee, it sprayed me in the face. FML
Today, I was using a restroom when I heard someone sneeze. I said, "Bless you." It happened again about three times, so I repeated myself each time. I then noticed it was an automatic air freshener. FML
Fresh!
Today, I wanted to freshen up my room, so I bought some Febreze. Standing on my bed, I began to spray, not noticing that the air vent directly across was turned on. The spray came directly back at me. The doctor says that the irritation in my eyes may last for several days. FML
Today, as I was walking up to a urinal I heard a small hiss. I looked up just in time to get an eye full of chemicals from the automatic air freshener. I rinsed my eye out and went back to the urinal. It happened again. FML
Today, I saw one of those candies that you spray on your tongue. Only after spraying some in my mouth did I find it was actually perfume. FML
Extreme reaction
Today, I discovered I'm allergic to the new perfume I bought and now I smell like a hospital. FML

Unless of course op has good hygiene and brushes their teeth twice a day.
gingaa96 18
No I think they advertise that it lasts for up to 8 weeks ;)

Oh god, good luck getting that taste out of your mouth!
speakersboom 19
Been there, OP. I feel your flowery-scented pain.
wellthen7154 12
Who said it was flower scented? I bet it's cinnamon. Everytime OP breathes in, they choke on the overwhelming cinnamon goodness. Mmm good times, good times.

Words can't express how perfectly your profile pic fits your comment.

Why was it facing towards you? Why did you have your mouth open?
Hiimhaileypotter 52
Probably because OP didn't expect to be sprayed in the mouth...
ptoka 20
Maybe he's a mouth breather? Maybe he had a cold or the flu? Maybe after struggling with the packaging he was out of breath? God, the possibilities are endless as to why his mouth was open.
XSimpleDesignX 18
That's why they have directions that tell you to have it aimed the opposite direction.

No man reads the instruction manual for an air freshener...
XSimpleDesignX 18
Doesn't matter if you read it or not. If you fail to read it then you shouldn't be mad when the predictable happens.
minesbiggerr 25
But usually the batteries and the can of refresher are Put in through the back of the device so why was it facing towards him when the the back should've been facing him?

I think I should also mention that it will scare the shit out of your babysitter when it goes off and you've neglected to tell him/her.
EmberEyes 16
What babysitter are you on about?
JennaNGood 21
Myself actually. Maybe I'm just jumpy.
EmberEyes 16
This is really irrelevant...

I think she mean the automatic kinds that spray at intervals or when someone walks by. They're a weird surprise if you don't know they're there.

I am reminded of the people who look directly into the nozzle of a can of OC spray to see why it isn't discharging only to have it discharge into their own faces. "Never look down the barrel of a loaded gun."

Amen!

Well, stop breathing and all your problems will be solved.

Not if it's one of those really heavy scents like cinnamon apple.
EmberEyes 16
It's called a joke.

Sounds like those cheesy gum and mint commercials
coried91 28
I know that. I realize my comment didn't come across the way I intended it to. Oh well, It's not a big deal.

Haha that was my point 50 :)
