Today, after getting back from a year-long world trip, I nearly fell on my knees and cried when I saw boxes of Twinkies at my local gas station. Finding out they were back was the highlight of the year. FML

AwkwardPartyBear tells us more.

I feel that I should have explained a bit further about the trip. A group and I went for charity causes (sort of like a Meals on Wheels world tour donation- just with a group). We could have shipped goods, but as someone said in the group, "it took out the adventure in the purpose". Although, we didn't explore as much as we meant to.. and instead donated/volunteered in different charity events throughout the year in different cities/countries. I'm happy among the fact that we helped the cause, but it was not much of a world-adventure as some FML commenters picture it. But I did buy a shitload of Twinkies and embarrassed myself hugging the boxes while crying rivers in the middle of the gas station.

Damn! That must have been the most boring world trip known to man kind!

You don't have a very interesting life, do you?

if you can travel around the whole world and not find anything to be excited about then something's wrong

The sweetest comeback in the history of EVER.

1, unless OP enlightens us, we will never know. Thanks OP for the FML. I had no idea they are back.

I actually traveled abroad for ten days this summer; went to the UK, and even though it was a "vacation" I can understand why OP couldn't find much to be excited about.

I agree with #13, this post kind of makes me mad actually. How can they not find any enjoyment in an experience like that? I barely have enough money to travel to the next town, let alone another country. I would kill to be able to travel the world, and I certainly wouldn't be happier to see twinkies than places I'd never been before.

That's some exciting shit though, much more so than a world trip!

That's exciting even if you weren't on a trip

Twinkles! You didn't bring any on your trip? Are you crazy? But either way they are back thank god....

Mmm Twinkies and Poptarts. Americans, you have the best junk food.

They're never on the shelves in Australia :(

#25 I know that feel. Unless you go to one of those candy shops with American food like recces and hersheys then you could find twinkies and pop tarts and such there.

i managed to get cinnamon bun bites out an American candy store in Glasgow. dear god they were good but really sickly after a bit. the uk has good candy but its nowhere near as imaginative as the US stuff.

If I want American candy, I just go to Bellingham.

#22 but we don't have Trixx cereal in Canada anymore :'(

That's ok it doesn't look the same anymore, just looks blah..

If in a year of travel you can't make happen one thing that would be more exciting than a Twinkie, YDI. Most people could do that in 20min., right wherever they are.
