Today, my girlfriend broke up with me and said I was not 'Christian enough' for her. Later I found out she had been cheating on me with my best friend. FML

yeah, she goes through phases where she says she's Christian. We dated for about a year, we started dating and she sat me down to ask if I was a Christian too. We had sex 3 weeks into our relationship, and then for another 9 months, and we stopped to 'get closer to God' And I also think it was around that time she started nailing my friend. And she still has yet to understand why I don't want to talk to her

Thank you #22 (and #23). I can accept the fact that there are people here who are angry at people who are hypocritical and use religion to their own means. But I can't accept some of these comments people are making about "don't date religious people," "screw religion," "don't date Christians," etc. I myself am Christian, and I am angry at the hypocrisy as well. I have had two serious relationships; I found out I was being cheated on after four years in the first one, and I have been in my current relationship for four years. I have never cheated, and have never thought of cheating. If you truly believe in a higher power, you don't try to manipulate that power into what is convenient for you.

I guess she takes that "love thy neighbor" thing pretty seriously.

funny thing was, I dated another girl over the summer, ended up moving 8 hours to be with her, she dumped me a week before I left because of not being Christian enough. But she has every right, one of the few pure Christians I've seen. Good for her, bad for me. So yeah, screw religion

Not always, I'm an atheist and my ex was a Christian. We had a good relationship.

Shut up you as*hole lets leave religions at the door and enjoy this website

You do realize that all people make mistakes, Christians are no exception. We don't all claim to be perfect. Some do granted, but not everyone!

That sucks, I'm sorry. For everyone else, just stop it. Just because some people in a group of people are hypocritical, that does NOT make them all that way. It was obvious she used it as an excuse to sound "greater-than-thou", and try and get out of it. Well, guess what? A good some of us Christians aren't like that. OP, don't think all Christians are like that. MOST of us are pretty good people. And no, we don't think we're any better than you (Unless of course, like you're ex, the Christian in question is a hypocrite). So people, stop bad talking Christians and Christianity. Not all of us are like that!

i use to go to church. everyones a hypocrite. dont date 1

wow. Look everyone, victor's got undeniable proof that every Christian's a hypocrite! PLEASE get to know people before you judge them. or maybe you just had a bad church. I'm not saying it your fault, because most of them could have been hypocrites, but most Christians aren't like that.

Yeah, people will come up with a lot of excuses to dump someone so they don't have to admit they're cheating on you. My best friend's older sister's ex said he "didn't trust her with other guys" when she was about to leave for trade school, when he had no reason whatsoever to think that. He was cheating on her. Or, when they say "There's too much going on in my life; I can't handle a relationship right now", that usually is bullshit for "I don't really like you that much but I don't want to admit it", especially when you know enough about their life to know that, unless they're keeping some serious shit from you, NOTHING is happening.
