Today, I learned that no matter how much you assume that the crunchy bits in a bag of crisps are in fact crisps, you will occasionally find that your assumptions are wrong. Beetles just don't have the same appeal. FML

I'm sure it wasn't that bad. I mean people eat bugs all around the world. They're healthier than the normal crisp.
Come on we've all eaten bugs. Some of the colorings in our food is made from crushed up bugs. Can you say yummers?

People eat bugs all the time without realizing it. You think that all the wheat and corn and rice and potatoes magically become insect-free as soon as they hit the supermarket shelves?
If anything, you should be grateful for the extra protein you just ate.

Really, this is only an FYL depending on the kind of beetle involved. Dermestid beetles are often used by labs, museums, and universities to eat the skin off human and animal carcasses!
Wow that sucks, but I think it is fair punishment for how badly you worded this FML.

So, #33, I'm not understanding why the genus and species of the beetle would make a difference in the level of FML. A bug is a bug is a bug, if you ask me.

Very well worded, nice job, and that would suck to haven eaten a beetle. I have seen people eat them and I can imagine the sound that it makes, and I am at the point of losing my dinner.
ugh that reminds me of this one time, I once dumped some very old cereal I found in a cupboard into a bowl.
I could't find any milk and looked at the bowl in defeat. That's when I noticed there was a living colony of weavels in it.
Saved by the lack of milk.
This is how all FMLs should be phrased, it's a lot funnier that way.

#36, I just meant that some beetles are more edible than others. There's an international market near my house that sells flavored roasted crickets and beetles, and if they have preferences, wouldn't it make a difference to the OP?
Well, considering that red foods contain mashed up beetle shells, this isn't so bad. You cut out the middleman.

My brother is a sheet metal worker - he does the shafts for Kelloggs... bug parts in Cereal is a common common thing. Everything sticks to that sugar.
