That's why I have such numbers saved in my phone already. It'll automatically come up that it exists already, I'll note that it's a fake number, and call her out on it. They get so embarassed when you do that.

Hey, better safe than sorry. It happens 90% of the time, but if you can't take rejection, then you're not fit for the real world. And I've only had the whole "Yes, it's a fake number, now you get the message that I..." thing once. Normally, when a girl gives you a fake number, it's under the impression that you'll take it and go home, where the rejection happens while she's not there, thus making it painless to her. That plan is broken when you say "Bish! This is a fake number!"
I would have given them the rejection hotline, then told them that if that didn't work to call the other number-- The suicide hotline =D

Um, Suicide help line? I think this is made up. wouldn't the suicide help line have a far more different number than a regular cellphone/home phone number? like a 1800 or 1900 ? If not than......Damn you got owned lol.
some are 800 numbers, but there are also local ones that have normal area codes.

I'm calling fake on this one. Google suicide helpline and they're ALL 800 numbers. No idiot in their right mind would confuse an 800 number for a home or cell number. Also, unless she works there or is crazy, why would she know it off the top of her head?

Oh, hey, check it out, there are only about 100 suicide hotlines in CA that have local area codes... http://suicidehotlines.com/california.html... (just going off the FML saying CA, but I'm sure there are plenty in other states :P) Gotta love people who only use the internet to perpetuate their own idiocy.
Its funny you should say that because at that particular url there are barely over 100 numbers, many are 1-800, most fall into the catergory of a 'hotline' using a 1-8## or something similar (by most I am saying over well over half) . Also to note, the first two numbers on the page are for the US national hotlines (both 800 numbers). Also to note, the hotline numbers for the most populous counties in California are 800 numbers. So before you acuse me of being ignorant by using a website to refute me, maybe you should spend more than 3 seconds looking at the site. I am not infact ignorant, I was making a simple observation followed up by a grossly overdramatic statement (i.e. the suicide part) as a way of perpetuating the fact that FML is supposed be funny and that not only must we realize that this one, along with many others, are fake and that girls have been giving guys fake numbers for a long time and that some guy actually fell for the 'hotline trick' is probably due to his own incompitence.
