Today, I woke up with the mother of all sore and swollen throats, completely out of nowhere. I have lost my voice and my mother will not phone a doctor on my behalf, so I took to the internet and googled my symptoms. Now I'm terrified I have cancer. FML

Maybe your doctor has a way to contact them via text, either email or an online chat? This sounds like something you need checked ASAP.

Eh, happens to me a few times per winter. And I don't go to the doctor. I'm student, so I must go on lectures. Yes, with sore throat and no voice. Even if it's raining or snowing.

I'll tell you now that you don't have cancer, this happens to me at least once a winter. A lot of doctor's offices also have ways to contact them besides phone now.
