Today, after a week of staying in at night and fighting off a persistent cold, I was finally feeling well again, so I decided to go to my boyfriend's work BBQ. I got food poisoning. FML

Today, my boyfriend is pissed at me for giving everyone food poisoning right before the holiday and ruining the weekend. He’s the one that forced and berated me into using the nasty expired ingredients in his mom’s kitchen, even though I knew better. FML

Today, I took my girlfriend to a restaurant we both like. By the end of the date, we were fighting and she angrily broke up with me. To make things worse, I got food poisoning. She didn't. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I were finally able to settle on having a day out together after putting it off for months because of work/other random reasons. This morning I woke up with the worst case of diarrhea I’ve ever had in my life. I won’t be leaving the bathroom anytime soon. FML

Today, I treated my boyfriend to an expensive dinner using the last of my paycheck. I had to excuse myself to the bathroom a few minutes in. I came back to find my plate empty. His excuse was, "I didn't want the food to get cold." FML

Food poisoning doesn’t work that way. Either he over ate and is sick from over eating. Or he ate bad/contaminated/off food and he has food poisoning from that. Food poisoning doesn’t always occur straight after eating said food, it can be hours before it sets in.

You can get both. Think Homer eating at a bad seafood restaurant. First he eats a truckload of shrimps and suspicious oysters, then his tummy aches a little because he overate, then since he ate more than his share of bacteria, he gets an extra-large food poisoning.
