My mum's too scared to give me a sex talk because she can't work out if I'm gay or straight. I find it hilarious to mince around but then bring girls home, and it confuses her no end so I think she'd rather just not know what I'm up to, good times :D

Kudos to your mom. Anyone and anything that helps to keep me from paying for some irresponsible unmarried teen's baby, or the abortion of the baby is much appreciated. I and millions of other Americans applaud your mom. And if you are embarrassed about it, then that's too bad for you. FYL.

Good for her! Your friends probably needed to hear the info as much as you. I didn't give my kids 'the talk.' We had a series of conversations over a period of years. It was never awkward or uncomfortable. My youngest would ask a question, and if she got the info she wanted and didn't want more, she'd say, "ok, that's enough for now, you can tell me more later." Both of my kids know I don't think they should have sex yet, and they know why for moral, health, relationship and self-esteem reasons.
