Today, my friend got her first car. I bought mine 3 weeks ago and haven't started making payments. She came straight from the dealer ship to pick me up. She backed in to my car. FML

Insurance is a pain in the ass. The person you speak to, their job is to find a specific reason why they don't have to cover you, plus it usually raises your rates since you're considered higher risk. If it was her friend's fault, her friend's insurance is responsible, not hers.

If it's your first car why make payments? That's a lot of hassle for a teenager. I'd suggest saving to buy it with cash. It'll take longer, but only if you don't start saving early, and it saves a lot of hassle.
