Today, I met my boyfriend's parents for the first time. I'm already a clumsy person but became extra clumsy because I was nervous. After knocking over my drink for the fourth time, my boyfriend's mom angrily shouted "Did you actually come drunk for the first time meeting us?" FML

4 times... wow... twice... okay, but 4? Anyway, it sucks that that is the first impression they have of you, but let's hope your boyfriend clears your name, and the next time you meet them concentrate on being extremely careful, as to not further damage your reputation.

how does nervousness translate to drunk? Ive been both plenty of times, and they're very different attitudes. its easy enough just to mention that you're kind of nervous. I would think that any parent who dated or had a social life of their own can understand. either that or they're just asses, in which case you shouldn't worry about impressing them so much anyway.

#73 made a good point Next time, when someone offers you a drink and you don't want you can refuse by making a joke on it.. =D

next time bring your own sippy cup.

wow. maybe after the SECOND spill you shouldn't have accepted another drink?

Hahahaha! Jeez, hun, I'm sorry that happened but get your shit together! Bring a bottle or something.

That was really horrible of her to just assume that. Hope she feels bad about it now.

you should have explained that you are just clumsy. she's a bitch for assuming you were drunk.

I hate being a klutz, it can be quite annoying.

I'd have started crying and told her I just get nervous around new people. Make her feel like the bitch she is.

I'd dump my drink all over her head and say "oops.. clumsy ole me." >:)
