Today, my dad called my recently unemployed son a no-good bum for not job hunting. My son literally spent all day beefing up his resume and scheduling job interviews for the whole week. It's not the 1920s anymore, dad. You can't just walk into a building, ask for a job, and get hired right on the spot. FML

These days, most places will ask you to go online. If you try dropping off resumes even when asked not to, they'll ashcan them because you don't follow directions.

This is true. My S.O. called a few places to ask how his applications were doing and they just tell him to go check online!

Tell cousin Eddie not to hold out for a management position and go to any of the 1000's of places that will hire any walk in. Taco bell has a sign giving out free jobs. Just Saying.
