Give her a book on how to be a good friend.

Sounds like they are being a bit heavy-handed about their message.

Talk about subtle hints. Real friends tell things how they are and cover your back no matter what. If you really need to lose wait because of health reasons then they should tell you outright. If they're hinting that you're not the weight society wants you to be then its f your friends l

You'll never loose weight with tips (subtle or heavy handed) coming from your friends, it has to come from you....otherwise it won't work.

At least she remembered your birthday, OP!

That's what you get for letting people find out when your birthday is. No one knows my birthday and I've never been sad.

Had you by chance mentioned recently that you felt bad about your appearance, or that you wanted to lose weight? If so, this could be seen as proof they listen when you talk and care about your self image therefore making this a thoughtful gesture.

give it to his girlfriend and tell him that your friend left it at your house for her

If it's a guy, wait till his birthday and then get him penis enhancement pills.

At least you didn't get the book on how not to be a dick.
