Today, I walked into the wrong classroom, sat down, took notes for ten minutes, and only realized my mistake when the professor asked me to introduce myself and explain why I was there. I wasn’t even enrolled in the class. FML
Today, I went to the gym to try out a new workout class. Halfway through, I realized I was in the wrong room and had accidentally joined a dance class. FML
Today, after attending lectures for months, studying for weeks, and spending hours writing a 15-page research paper, I was informed that due to technological issues during registration, I was not enrolled in the class. FML
Today, I went to my first class of the year. The first thing the teacher said was, "I hate this f*cking school." FML
Today, I was teaching a class when a student pointed out that I'd used the wrong "your/you're" while writing on the board. FML
Today, I found out that I chose a wrong class and my 30-page paper worth 10 credit points that I wrote for that class is basically worthless now, and my graduation might be postponed another semester just because of that. FML
Today, I went to online to find out why my midterm grade is for my least favorite class Psychology. After weeks upon weeks of studying and doing work for a class I hate I found out that I have a zero in the class. Turns out I've been going to the wrong psychology class all semester. FML
Today, I decided to show up to my new class an hour early, to be able to choose my seat, and figure out how the computer lab works… only to find out that the lab was locked and I had to wait until the professor unlocked it. FML
Today, I started at a new college. I bought my textbooks and went to my first class only to find out that they changed my schedule without telling me. I'd already opened the book. I could not get $200 back. FML
Today, I'd signed up to try a workout class at the gym. However, as soon as the instructor started the class, I realized it was much more intense than I had anticipated. I ended up passing out and had to be carried out of the class by the instructor. FML

I thought classes usually started with an introduction and a review of the syllabus. I guess you didn't start to take notes until after that?

71 Yes that is correct. Except all you'll get for free is the lecture. So realistically you would only be doing it to improve your knowledge on a topic, rather that get qualified.

If it wasnt the wrong subject, the note taking would be perfectly fine as most classes would use the same textbook. That being said, this class would only be maybe 15 minutes ahead or behind the other class. 15 minutes wouldnt really be bad.

6/100 - Has the possibility of different classes with different coursework on the same subject ever crossed your mind? Op might very well be in college as well, which makes this even more likely. Get a course book from a local college and check out how many different classes and variations of math, literature, science, art, etc, there are.

Even if they use different text books, you're still going to be learning the same material if it's the same subject, and so it wont be a huge deal.

Uh, no, 122. Maybe in Jr high/ high school, but not in college/university. It's quite possible that the material is nowhere near similar, while being similar enough for OP to mistake under the pressure of intense note taking.
