Today, while working as a receptionist at a doctor's office, my boss asked me to check in one more patient before I left. He paid his $50 copay in nickels and dimes. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I had an elderly man come to my cash register. His total came to $15.50 He handed me $5 in nickels and dimes. A full roll of quarters. Before I could take the roll, he bust it open, making me count it. After that was all counted he was 50 cents short. So he handed me a $10 bill. FML
Today, a lady came into my workplace to pay her $120 bill in one dollar bills. I kept losing count. FML
Today, at my retail job, a woman came to my till with her purchases. After I scanned all her items, she handed me two small bags. One was filled with nickels and dimes. The other was filled with cents. Her total was $28.53. The coins amounted to $22.30. FML
Today, I was doing takeout orders at the restaurant I work at. I spent a long while putting together this guy's $135.00 order. When he finally got there to pick it up, I told him to fill out the credit card slip. I looked at it after he left. He gave me a 40 cent tip. FML
What do you mean, lady?
Today, I went to the doctor's office for an appointment. After waiting for ages, I asked the receptionist what the delay was. Apparently, I had no standing appointment today. This is coming from the same receptionist who checked me in nearly two hours ago. FML
Thanks, I hate it!
Today, while working as a receptionist at a health clinic a woman came to settle her account. Before she left, she held out her closed palm and asked if I could put something in the bin for her. I held out my hand and watched many bits of chewed fingernails land in my palm. FML
One, two, three, four…
Today, I thought I was having a nice day at work, until I had a client who paid me $376 in rolls made of 0.05 and 0.10. It took me an hour to count. FML
Rules are rules
Today, at work, a man bought a lot of really expensive stuff. He paid the large bill with cash, and the manager helped me count the money. When we were done, he handed me a $100 bill to thank me for all the help. We can't accept tips. The manager was next to me. I had to say no. FML
Today, while working at a chain restaurant, I forgot to charge someone a few dollars for extra toppings on the side. My stingy boss took the time to take that money out of my paycheck. FML
Time waster
Today, I was just about done with my late-night shift at Ralph's. As I was about to put up my "Closed Lane" sign, an elderly women starts putting items on the conveyor belt. The cost was $14.79, and she paid with pennies. It took her ages to count them all, and I wasn't being paid overtime. FML

I'm gonna try being that "glass is half full" guy. At least it wasn't pennies.

Can you clear something up for us? Was he Asian? I have a stereotype bet going on.

Hey, OP here! No he was not Asian, and he wasn't too old either. Typical of my office to have such bad luck right as I clock out

Thanks, I lost 10 dollars

Will you pay the person you lost the bet to in coins?

If this is supposed to be a recognizable reference, please explain, because it appears only you and one other person get it.

Any scenario where someone pays in coins reminds me of an old Looney Tunes short called "Wild Wife." There's a gag where a little old lady wants to deposit $200 at the bank--in pennies. She counts them out one by one too!

Count it out nice and slowly and carefully. You’re on the clock, right?

I used to pump gas and when I worked the later shift no one pumped gas after me, we just had someone working inside. I hated leaving when a customer would pull up and see me pumping someone else's gas, so I'd pump theirs too. Some nights I had to eventually call it quits.

OP here. It is a specialist office, so it's usually more than an office visit to your PCP
