Today, while trying to hold the door open on an elevator, I managed to drop something down the elevator shaft. I'm blind, and the something was my white cane. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Butter fingers
Today, I was walking into work holding a coffee and a bunch of other things. My employee saw me and held the door. I was almost there when I dropped my coffee, tried to catch it, tripped over the curb and fell flat on my face. I heard the door close while still lying there. FML
Whoops
Today, I attempted to be nice and hold a door open for a person in a wheelchair. He hit the button to open another door. While I pointed out that I would hold the door for him, I realized that the door I was holding open for him led down some stairs. FML
Today, my building's elevators were temporarily out of service. I climbed up 17 flights of stairs only to realize I left my keys downstairs. After the painful climb back up, the elevator lights came on. FML
Today, while at the mall, I was traveling up the escalator on my way to the food court. When I neared the top, the handrail severely shocked me, causing me to drop a bag of China I had just bought, which fell to the bottom of the escalator and shattered. FML
Today, with a single misstep, I managed to send myself and several others tumbling down a stairwell at work. An ambulance ended up having to be called for one lady. FML
You may be entitled to compensation…
Today, I was working when a forklift came speeding out a trailer without honking. I jumped out the way, only to trip over something and fall out the dock door. FML
Careful
Today, I was walking up some stairs, and I told the guy in front of me to be careful, as the handrail was loose and well-worn. I then put my hand on it, and promptly fell backwards down the stairs with a piece of handrail still in my hand. FML
Bad day for glasses
Today, I walked into the glass door of my boss’s cabin and broke my spectacles. Thank god for a backup pair, right? Wrong. I fell down the stairs and broke them too. FML
Today, I shut my finger in the car door. The door locked. Then I dropped the keys on the ground and couldn't reach them. FML
Keep moving
Today, as I was stood on an escalator, my shoelace got caught in the step. Panicking, I tried to pull it out, but my shoe came off. I had to awkwardly hop back down the escalator to retrieve it while everyone around me in the mall watched. FML

How did you type that?

Surely it would be dangerous if there's a big enough gap between the elevator and the floor of the hallway for a cane to fit through it?

What is wrong with a bunch of you, making fun of this person's blindness? That's horrible.

If we could figure out what is wrong with us, this site wouldn’t exist!

As a blind person, I say blind jokes are as good as any and there were a few good ones on here. What is inconsiderate is the rude way some people ask. Curiosity is good and it’s good to ask but there are better ways to ask than how some of the commenters on here did. ( You’re right Mr. Pencil, if that were the case no one would be on here.

Then...how do you even use this app? This app is literally 100% reading. Do you have someone read every fml for you, daily?

So like...you don't have to use an app to type on here, first of all. I'm on a laptop currently, and computers have endless possibilities for accessibility. Screen-readers, software that reads pages for you or even prints out hard-copy braille that they can read, etc. Second of all, if people are asking more literally "how did you type this?" Well, you don't actually have to be able to see to type. Every keyboard I've ever owned has had the F and J keys marked with a raised line (the two index finger positions on the home row). It would probably be a bit more challenging to learn for a blind person since they can't ever see the keyboard, but it wouldn't be that difficult to memorize the placement of the keys and learn to type that way. A lot of people can type without looking at the keyboard anyway, so it's not a magical, unheard-of thing.
