Today, when paying for gas, I realized I'd forgotten my wallet back home. After a moment of panic, I managed to remember my card number. I paid, blowing the cute cashier's mind, and drove away, before my car started sputtering and slowed to a crawl. I'd used the wrong fuel. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I stopped at the gas station to fill up my tank and get some snacks. I paid the cashier, then got back into my car, totally forgetting to pump the $50 worth of fuel I'd just prepaid for. Too bad I didn't realize until my car came to a sputtering stop about a mile down the road. FML
Today, I had to drive down to my parents' house. On they way down, I needed to fill up on gas but unfortunately I'd forgotten my wallet at home with all of my cash and credit cards. I then had to call triple A and explain to them in all seriousness how I ran out of gas at the gas station. FML
Today, I pulled into the gas station to fill up only to realize I had forgot my wallet. By the time I went home, got it, and came back, the price had gone up eleven cents. FML
Almost made it
Today, I was sitting at home when I remembered that I desperately needed gas for my car. On my way there, I prayed that my car would make it the whole way, and was thankful when I pulled up to the pump, because I knew my car wouldn't go any further. Then I realized I left my wallet at my house. FML
Time to push
Today, I left the house to DoorDash and remembered that I forgot to get gas last night. I had just enough gasoline to make it to Costco for better prices. It wasn’t until I pulled in that I realized I'd left my wallet at home. I have approximately two miles of gas left. FML
In this economy?!
Today, I was at the gas station with my grandma. After I slid her card and began to pump, I convinced her that it was a lot easier and more convenient to pay at the pump with your credit card instead of paying inside. She yelled as I realized I went $20 over what she had to spend. FML
Today, I was standing in the gas station, pulling out my wallet to pay the $100 of gas I just filled my car with. I opened my wallet and found a note saying "borrowed money for food". FML
Today, I was so engrossed in a phone call that I drove off without pumping gas after I'd prepaid $50. FML
Today, I went to the gas station, paid the clerk, and drove off without pumping any gas. FML
Classic mistake
Today, I realized I'd lost my wallet when paying for groceries. I had to put all the items back and leave the store feeling so embarrassed in front of everyone. FML

"I paid, blowing the cute cashier's mind." Wow, that's the last thing I'd expect you could blow as a form of payment!

Around here we aren't allowed to just punch in a credit card from some one's memory. It is a sign of fraud.

OUCH! (Per the car w/ wrong fuel; presume gas <-> diesel) :-(
Pauschinator 22
Diesel in gas car?
CheekyRaccoon 27
The diesel nozzle is too big to fit into the petrol hole usually or has some sort of design that prevents it from entering easily.
Pauschinator 22
No it isn't. Diesel pumps specifically for semis are too big.
Bliepje 22
not true. everybody says that but ive seen it mutiple times were they did do that
extremereviews 26
Not where I live, they're the same size just different colors
Pauschinator 22
Exactly.
Taurus95 3
same here, disel is either green or yellow

Never underestimate the power of brute-force and stupidity. I know a couple friends who have filled their gas car with diesel, despite different sized nozzles.

This sounds like something from a comedy.

the fraudster has gotta be pretty dedicated if they decided to memorise the card number instead of just using the card. i know my card number because i've used it so often.

You underestimate the dedication of someone who wants free money.

Sometimes if you're a fraudster, you don't have access to the whole card to steal it, but you have access to the number. Also, if you steal someone's credit card, they'll most likely notice it's missing. But people don't often check their balances, so if you were just using a number, you would be more likely get away with it for a while. People realized this, and that's why they don't let you pay just using a number anymore. In most places anyways.

"Blowing the cute cashier's mind." Remove the "'s mind" and it'd be a whole different story
