Today, the power at work was out. This would be fine, if they didn’t make me stay for another hour to wait for it to come back on in the Texas heat. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, a strong storm knocked the power out at our office. I was dismissed five hours early, had my desk locked up and was walking toward the doors to leave when the power came back on. FML
This is just the beginning
Today, the power went out to my house a second time after coming on a few days ago due to a series of severe storms that rolled through the area. The first knockout took less than 12 hours. This one? A little over three days in a heat wave. FML
Oddly specific insomnia
Today, the power went out. Thankfully, it was early in the morning so I should've been able to sleep through it. Then I realized I have an impossible time sleeping during power outages. FML
Today, the power went out at work. As everyone left the building to go home, the owner came in to inform me that, since the phones were on a battery back up, I would be staying to man them. The phones rang 2 times in the 4 hours I sat in the dark by myself. Both times were telemarketers. FML
Today, I woke up to find my power was out. After taking a shower in the dark and being unable to make myself lunch, my power came on two minutes before I had to leave for school. FML
Kennel fatigue
Today, I arrived at the kennels I work in to find the power disconnected and the water pump off. This meant I had to bucket water and carry it to keep over sixty assorted dogs and cats alive in temperatures over 90 degrees. The moment I finished, the power came back on. FML
Today, I finished working a 70 hour work week. I'm a lineman for the electric company, and worked extended hours all week getting people's lights back on after a wind storm. When I got home, my power was out. FML
Skyped out
Today, I had one minute to go before a team meeting from my work, a blackout occurred in my block. The outage lasted an hour. The meeting was about 40 minutes long. FML
Today, after climbing eight flight of stairs due to electricity outage, I got to work only to find the office locked. FML
Today, the power went out at school. If it's out for more than twenty minutes, standard procedure is to let us go home. They came back on almost nineteen minutes later. FML

I'm in Arizona and the same thing happened to me last week, except it was me, two coworkers, and about 30 children who were already hot and sweaty from the game we'd just finished playing. May the end of summer come quickly, eh?

Were you not already aware that it gets "sorta warm" in AZ in the summertime???

At least you were safe from the many mass shootings that go on in Texas. Luckily, the new laws that go in effect today will make it better for the "good guys with guns" to put down the bad guys.

I'm not sure what you're trying to imply here so I'll just add some more detail I guess. I've lived in Arizona for 20 years, so I do know how hot it gets. Part of my job is assisting in an after-school program for kids. We've been playing indoor games lately because it's too hot to bring them outside for very long. We have AC inside our building. The power cutting out was completely unexpected and was an issue stemming from the city's electric company, not something we did. We stayed inside, everyone had water, and within about 30 minutes the power came back on. Trust that this wasn't a case of stupidity or poor planning. Just an unexpected power outage that we worked around.
