Today, the fire alarm keeps going off at my apartment. Not only is the noise ear-piercingly loud enough to wake the entire neighbourhood, there's also a big flashing red light in case the deafening sound isn't enough. This is my day off. It's going on all day. FML

Put up some decorations and turn the lights off and bam, the most authentic zombie apocalypse set!

Go out and explore the city. It's gotta be better than listening to that all day.

OP's building is probably doing one of those ones that does a fire alarm test like every few months.

You could go on an adventure! Visit somewhere you have never been or do something you have never done. . . or you could just go to a friend's/relative's house for a visit.

They did save you time...but that's not the point I feel sorry for you I would hate that I love that show

The quick fix is to go out

You just reminded me off Phoebe

Keeping in mind that I have no idea whether you have had a lot of experience with fire alarms **or not,** did you at least try changing its batteries? The phrase "keeps going off" suggests to me that the alarm isn't ongoing, in which case that could be the alarm to change the batteries. It will also flash a red light and emit an equally loud noise. If that's not it, you could at least take out the batteries temporarily for your own sanity. A lot of apartments do expect it to be the tenants' job to deal with and change the fire alarm batteries themselves.

Or call the local fire department.... And they will find the problem and fix it, if they can't they will put the alarm on test or silent and they will call the alarm company, I am a firefighter so I know the process

Beat on it until it stops making noise. Even if #25 is right, buying a new one isn't that expensive.

Time to break out the sledgehammer...
