Today, the "Child Care and Development" class at my high school assigned all 50 students to carry a fake baby around school all day for a week. I can't even read a page of my notes without hearing a robotic crying noise. Today is the first day. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, for my Teen Living class, all the students got a fake baby. In order to stop the baby from crying, you have to use the bracelet they provide. I lost the bracelet. I have the baby all weekend. FML
Baby steps
Today, my class got baby dolls for the week to teach us how to be good parents. After school, I went to the store with my mom with the baby doll. When I got home, I realized that I left the baby doll in a shopping cart. FML
Field recordings
Today, after our teacher had said this class would be very important and that we should take notes, instead of writing notes, I brought a recorder to class. After class, I listened to the recording, and all I could hear was muffled voices. FML
Today, I worked my first day at a nursery. At nap time I spent about an hour trying to get all the kids to calm down and go to sleep. I'd finally got the last one to drop off, when my phone rang. Loudly. FML
Late bloomers
Today, I emailed out class requirements for the upcoming school year. I had to include, "No toys, no bottles, no pacifiers, and children must be fully potty trained in order to attend." At least 3 parents complained. I teach second grade, and none of them is special needs. FML
School's out for summer, thank God!
Today, I had 15 teenagers literally laugh in my face when I asked them to be quiet. I'm a student teaching in a high school, which is the culmination of 2 years of my life and $20,000, and I might in fact actually hate doing it. FML
Thirty demons
Today, I’m a high school teacher and I finally learned how to use the smartboard properly. I connected my laptop to demonstrate a lesson… and projected the last thing I had open: a half-written email complaining about how loud this exact class is. Thirty teenagers read it in silence. One kid raised his hand and said, “Fair.” FML
Today, I have to attend a mandatory parenting class due to a false report filed against me with CPS. My son's school play is at the same time as today's class, and I'll have to miss it so I can learn how to be a "better mom". FML
Today, as a natural science teacher, I was drawing a uterus on the class chalkboard. One of my students started messing around and being noisy, so I shouted, "Be quiet and check out my uterus!" FML
Today, I fell asleep in class. I'm the teacher. FML

moral of the story: you only have this baby for a week and it's already driving you nuts. a real one you're stuck with for at least 18 years. DONT HAVE A BABY FOR A VERY VERY LONG TIME. (:

It doesn't exist in my own country. Instead we have sex education classes ,starting from Middle School, and free access to contraceptive methods in High School. Are the students missing on anything ? On the plus side, not too many teen pregnancies or school droppers..

I did that once. The first couple days were fine and then I wanted to throw the baby out the window.

I feel for you op. I had a robotic baby for 3 days. Didn't get much sleep with that baby crying every 4 hours.

I didn't have that class back when I was in High School, I missed out. I would've loved experiencing that. Impress your teacher with how well you dealt with that robotic baby, be mature about it, and use protection lol

All the students - it means ALL the students - even boys (that would be just right, boys should know about babies a lot more than "how to make them") or your class is all-girl class?

I did this in high school for my child development class. I'm pretty sure the whole point of this project is to show teenagers how difficult it is to care for an infant. Not only that, but you guys could do something a real parent would do and have someone babysit your child while you're in class.
