Today, my neighbor and I learned why fireworks are illegal in city limits. This lesson was learned shortly after a roman candle came crashing through my second story window. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Spooked
Today, I found out that the loud "firecrackers" I heard the night before were actually shotgun blasts by my neighbor murdering his girlfriend. FML
Sax appeal
Today, I left my window open while practicing the saxophone. My drunk neighbours showed their appreciation for the music with a well-aimed firecracker that set my mattress on fire. My landlord has threatened to evict me as she thinks I set it off. FML
Today, I found out that the 2 loud "firework booms" I heard were actually a guy shooting his dog on the unfinished road behind my house. FML
Boom!
Today, I was laying with my cat when someone set off a firework next to my window. Now I have stitches and a bed covered in blood. FML
Today, I heard my neighbors having a violent argument in their front yard. I listened in, and soon found out why the wife wasn't happy with her husband. Apparently, she had caught her husband peeking through my windows for the second time this month. FML
Today, I decided to light a lantern and watch it fly with my girlfriend after midnight. The neighbor's tree caught fire. FML
FREEDOM
Today, some idiots set off fireworks close to my house. I was a bit worried, but my uncle assured me it would be fine and left to run an errand. Just minutes later, I looked up to find the tree right next to my wooden balcony engulfed in flames. FML
Nutfirecracker
Today, my boyfriend and I were sitting on the couch and his legs were on my lap. We heard a loud firework from somewhere outside our window, we both jumped and I felt the pain of him kicking me in the nuts. FML
What have you done?
Today, my son dropped a firecracker in my flour storage bin, probably thinking the pop would make flour go everywhere. I guess he’s never heard of a dust explosion because what he actually did was set fire to the flour, causing such a violent shockwave it blew the kitchen window out of the wall. FML
Today, some kids used firecrackers to blow up my mailbox. This is the third time this week. FML

this FML reminds me of a movie where a girls aunt was setting off illegal fireworks with her family. the little girl ran straight toward them yelling "BRIGHT LIGHTS!!!" :D

cause of idiots like you, they need to make fireworks illegal.

op didn't set it off, the neighbor did. learn to read before criticizing.

If mods can delete comments, surely they can fix this one...

smurf people like u should be kicked out of society. youd be more usefull that way.
Blazingcrono 6
Are we getting into fantasy now? Little blue people should be shunned from society? Who are you talking to anyways? No specific subject of your sentence and horrible grammar makes you a lower life-form than most others living on this planet.
fireice22 0
u people are assuming he wasn't shooting the fireworks. no exact way to tell so no néed for the pointless bashing.
Stiggy626 25
he said "came crashing through" not "went crashing through" meaning it was coming to him, not from him. It's pretty simple to figure it out if you think about it for a second.
fireice22 0
btw it's " no specific subject "in" your sentence".

Touché #20.
mad_hatter0666 22
actually, it makes sense either way. so 20 isn't completely wrong. :)

yeah maybe I'm dumb but I think it can go either way...

um... it's pretty easy to see by 'roman candle came crashing through my second story window' that op was in the room at the time. if it said something like I watched as a roman candle crashed through my second story window you could assume op lit it.
Hi_Itz_Me 0
Why would the neighbor also learn the lesson if the OP shot it into his or her own window? And also, OP said that it "came" into his or her window. If OP was outside watching it, he or she would have said it "went" into his or her window.

Haha. I can see this happening to me.

AVADA KEDAVRA! :) Voldemort threw the candle--I mean wand through the window.

who'd you piss off? Cause that, sir, was not an accident. People tend to aim their roman candles at targets and seeing as you're on the second floor....you can understand from there.

So, you're saying they're illegal because government knows that a lot of people are too stupid to handle them safely?
fymother 13
it's like a seatbelt law. or helmet law. protecting your citizens from themselves without infringing on human rights is the duty of government. the ban could also be in effect only during specific conditions (such as dry weather, which would be a no-brainer).
DocBastard 40
No, it's nothing like those laws at all. If you don't wear a helmet or your seatbelt, the only person you risk injuring is you. If you fire off illegal fireworks, you risk injuring yourself and other people, setting things on fire, etc. Steven, they are illegal because they are dangerous. And they are dangerous because people are too stupid to use them safely.
ImAHomosexual 0
^ so it's a law to protect citizens from themselves? I ask. Why can we not simply expel those who are so stupid that they endanger those around them instead of making an object illegal. Or have a training course so that they can make fireworks illegal. Really if you aren't some drunken idiot fireworks are not dangerous.
DocBastard 40
No, as I said before it's a law to protect other people and their shit from idiots, as well as themselves. I have to say I like the idea of expelling idiots, but it isn't practical. That would only leave about 40 people here, and then who would refill the soda machines?
KingGeorgeGal 12
53 is right, if it wasn't for people like OP's number who would do all the small jobs that make this country function?
DrainedOfSanity 4
Roman candles don't "crash" through anything unless some idiot throws it. It's a fountain type, not a rocket.
guckylynn 19
That's what I was thinking. They don't shoot off enough debris for it to crash through a window.
ollierobs 0
Candles from Rome can be quite heavy, and could easily break a window.

OllieRobs i seriously hope you're joking.
