Today, my mother threw away my brand new headphones. She saw them on the couch with duct tape on the wires and assumed they were "old, broken, and cheap." I put the tape there to avoid damaging the wires. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was listening to music while I wrapped Christmas presents. All was going well when the music was cut off, literally. I snipped the cable to my very expensive headphones in half. FML
Bring headphone jacks back on all smartphones!
Today, I bought new earphones for my phone so I could finally listen to music again. Not an hour later I broke it. FML
Time to switch to AirBuds
Today, I attempted to untangle a pair of headphones. Somehow, in the process, I managed to tie them into a knot so complicated that it's now a permanent part of my life in the "great big box of mystery cables that lives in the garage." FML
It's called fashion, Susan, look it up
Today, my daughter couldn't find a hair tie and thought a piece of duct tape would be a perfectly fine substitute. FML
Glue ear
Today, I was listening to my iPod while changing the diaper on my baby. One earbud fell out of my ear and onto the changing table so I quickly picked it up without looking and put it back in my ear, only to realize the headphone had fallen onto more than a table. I now have brown earphones. FML
That one John Cage track
Today, I was listening to my music on my phone through my Bluetooth wireless headphones. While listening, I turned my music and the power on my headphones off for a bit. I thought I'd lost them when I got home. They were so loosely fit over my ears that I felt like an idiot when I realized they were still on my head. FML
DIY
Today, since I'm too broke to get a new one, I had to duct tape my bra. FML
Time to move out!
Today, my mother took my brand new PS4, which I haven't even played yet, and threw it out the window while I was at work. When I asked her why, she said she was mad that we didn't have any paper towels left. FML
GHOSTS!
Today, my mother interrogated me about the duct tape, that I'd put on my foot for a wart, having fallen off. I tried to explain that my foot was just sweaty. She responded by arguing that the duct tape falling off was a "supernatural event". I really wish I could afford my own place. FML
Today, when I realized I'd forgot rice on the stove, I jumped off my chair and pulled off my headphones really fast. Now I've got burnt rice and broken headphones. FML

Why do people assume it's okay to just throw things out without asking? I hope she buys you new ones, OP.

Did you respond to her with "YOU'RE old, broken, and cheap!"?

Next time, don't leave shit you still use lying around like that. Put it where it goes.

Kind of your fault

I hope they weren't Beats. That cloud suck even more since they're so expensive. I have a pair, and I'd probably kill someone if they threw them away

The silver lining would be that if someone chucked your Beats you'd have an excuse to actually buy good headphones.

Why doesn't anyone give OP the benefit of the doubt? Maybe he'd just left the room for a minute. He didn't necessarily have his things just lying on the couch because he was lazy.

Maybe quit leaving your stuff around the house and she won't assume it's trash.
