Today, my mom called and told me I got accepted to my first-choice college. I got really excited and asked her to read me the letter. As she started to read it, she said, "Oops... uh, nevermind." FML

Today, I was accepted to the college of my dreams. Then I checked the address. Turns out, the letter was meant for my neighbor. I was actually denied. FML
Today, I got a large envelope from a college I applied to earlier. My mom, expecting big news, made my family gather round as I opened it. It ended up being a letter of rejection from not just that school, but all three campuses of the state college. FML
Today, I got a letter from Yale Law School saying I got a 4 year full scholarship. I called my dad crying and read the whole thing… even the bottom of the letter, which said, "April fools' ! Love, Mom and Dad." FML
Today, I found out that my dad, thinking it was an advertisement, threw away a letter from the college I applied to. FML
Today, I was cleaning my father's study room and wondering why I did not receive my acceptance/rejection letter from a college I really wanted. I found the acceptance letter, on his desk, also approving of a full scholarship. The deadline to confirm was a month ago. FML
Today, I received another letter of rejection from the university of my dreams. I got it the first time, but thanks for reminding me. FML
Today, after being accepted into the college of my dreams, I found out that my mom has spent all my college savings on alcohol over the years, and she says that it's my fault for not "helping her get help." FML
Today, I received my acceptance letter to one of the most prestigious universities in the US, as well as a nice scholarship. I was so proud of myself, I eagerly showed my dad, hoping he would shed a tear or two. His only words were, "Just get a job so you can get the hell out of my house." FML
Today, I was accepted to college and received a scholarship equal to almost half the tuition. After sharing this news with my parents, I spent the next 35 minutes getting yelled at about how I wasn't allowed to go there because my boyfriend might go there. FML
Today, I was excited because I was going to get my college decisions back. I put all of the letters in order of my preference. Didn't get into my first choice. Denied from my second choice. Rejected from my third choice. Wait listed on my back-up. Accepted for a job at Target. FML

I may be wrong but don't rejection letts come in a small envelope as opposed to a larger envelope if your accepted, mine did anyways.

Yeah you don't get into college just based on your grades and your GPA. People you know can also get you into college believe it or not.

eh. I only got into 2/5 colleges i applied to, even though i had a good GPA and really good SAT scores. It's not really an FML but still sucks. Good luck on your other applications.

At least one of my rejection letters came in a bigger packet. I had thought i was accepted at first. like #5 said, every college is different.

She shouldn't have told you that you got in until she was 100% sure, I'm so sorry. I made sure I told my mom to not even tell me I had mail until I went home and checked for myself, I didn't trust her to open them up and call me haha. Not everyone gets into their first choice schools, there will be other ones out there for you!

Yeah, which really sucks if it's perfect for what you want to do. I'm going to be going to school to become a pilot. I didn't apply to my first-choice school because I found an easier college to get into that still has a flight program. I'm not trying to brag, but that's the first school I applied to and I got in. I wasn't supposed to get the letter until March 1. I don't know why they sent it early
