Today, my husband has been painting our house all weekend and plans to finish the job after work today. I decided to surprise him by completing the job myself. Painting the last window frame, I dropped the open tin of white paint, right onto our car roof. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Good job!
Today, I was painting the garage door. After 3 hours, I finally finished the job. As I was walking back inside, accidentally pressed the button that opens and closes the garage door. Not only did the paint job get messed up as it went up, the paint also dripped onto my parents' brand new car. FML
Mix and match
Today, I started to paint the top of a piece of furniture. My husband had painted the sides a few months ago. I sanded/prepped. He went to buy the paint he had used. I was half done when I stepped back and saw that the colors didn't match. He forgot what he used, so he bought whatever, and "thought it would be OK." FML
Today, my son sprayed the bottom of my car and windows white with fake snow in Christmas cheer. He did a great job, except he used white spray paint instead of the fake snow. FML
Today, I spent hours hand-painting an awesome design on a gift for a friend. My husband was supposed to assemble it when I finished, but when I stepped back to admire my work, he informed me that the whole thing was sideways. He watched me paint it. FML
Today, I saw a photo on my mother-in-law's Facebook, proudly showing off the horrible job she'd done of painting her car. I sarcastically commented that I wouldn't inflict that on my worst enemy's ride. An hour later, she came by and emptied a bucket of paint over my windshield. FML
Remodeling
Today, I finished painting my living room. I had to leave the house in a rush. When I got home, I found smears of paint all around and the carpet crusted with paint that had dried. My cat had rubbed up against the walls and tracked it around. FML
Today, I came home to find that my girlfriend had repainted my bedroom. As she had offered to do it, it shouldn't have been a problem. However, she decided to return the several unopened cans of off-white paint that I'd bought for something "more neutral." Like "Sunset Orange." FML
Today, I was painting my mom's house, which so far had taken 12 hours over two days. All of a sudden there was a wind storm. All of the leaves stuck to the wet paint. FML
Paintwork
Today, I spent the afternoon painting my bedroom and was really pleased with how it turned out. When I moved the furniture back, I noticed a large patch behind the wardrobe I'd missed. The paint shop had closed, and I had no idea which shade I'd used. FML
Today, I decided to surprise my boyfriend by taking his new car to the automatic car wash. As soon as the water started, I realized that I forgot to close the sunroof. FML

Rinse the car down with the hose

You must feel like there is a black cloud over you, but don't feel blue. I just read that paint should rinse off. I hope your husband isn't a violent man, and I hope he won't pink a fight or yellow lot of you, or get sick and puce all over the place. Maybe he'll be green with envy at your new paint job. Orange you glad I was here to cheer you up?

I can totally see the husband coming home and seeing it and he says "No worries I got this handled" Then sings "Like a good neighbor state farm is there." with a new wife that stays in the kitchen where she's suppose to be :o

What about the big dent in the roof of the car?
sallen0046 4
What dent? There's absolutely no mention of a dent, and even if there was one, a single dent would look a lot better than a gigantic dropped paint splotch running down the sides.

Well, you did succeed in surprising him.

That sucks! If its oil based that aint coming off!!
Ninjafriends 1
It wipes off with absolutely zero issue. It's not like you're painting with enamel. If you had tried to wipe it down relatively quickly you wouldn't have anything to complain about.

and I suppose the dent from the paint can will come right off, too?
Ninjafriends 1
"Suppose" whatever you'd like. The emphasis was on the white paint. There's no mention of any dent.

Disregard, paint thinner or goof-off will take it off just be careful not to ruin the factory paint job!

umm soap and water. if it was a water based paint cleaning it up quickly would have worked. I used to work at a paint store and spilled it all the time and soap and water worked fine. if not tell your husband it's the new style people are painting their cars :)
