Today, my grandfather sent everyone in my family an email thanking them for the photo we got him. I'd bought the frame, edited the picture, and delivered it to him. All everyone else did was show up and complain while the picture was being taken. I'm the only one who didn't get a thank you email. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Cropped
Today, I sent my grandfather a picture of me because he hasn't seen me in years. I guess I should wear makeup next time, because he sent back a heavily photoshopped and cropped version and told me how beautiful I look. FML
Big hugger
Today, my grandpa took the family out for dinner and paid for everyone. He paid the bill and my family and I were waiting by the door. I realised I probably should thank him for dinner. I turned around without thinking and give him a big hug, and said, "Thanks for dinner Grandpa." It wasn't my grandpa. FML
Today, I proudly gave my grandma a picture I had drawn for her. She didn't seem thrilled with it, and afterwards the rest of my family seemed upset. Nobody could fathom why I drew grandma a picture of a graveyard for her 85th birthday. It was suppose to be a bridge. FML
Today, I spent the holiday with my husband's big family. They suggested we take a family picture, but two people were purposely left out of it. I was one of them. FML
Today, my grandpa sent me a letter apologizing for not congratulating me about my graduation last spring. Too bad I don't graduate until May. FML
Thanks, I think?
Today, I received a package at work. Thinking it was something I ordered, I opened it in front of my coworkers. It was a gift from my grandmother: a giant pink, “I Love My Grandson” T-shirt. The worst part? They insisted I put it on and take a picture to send to her. FML
Three is the magic number
Today, my mother-in-law proudly posted a photo of “all three” of her grandsons on Facebook. She has four. Somehow my son was forgotten, even though we live close by and see her regularly. I guess we’re not memorable. FML
Today, I texted a friend offering my condolences over the death of his grandfather. He hadn't been told his grandfather had died yet. FML
Photoshopped
Today, when I visited my grandmother at her nursing home, I was looking at pictures she had of all the grandkids. All were normal graduation pictures etc. but mine was a cutout where she made me skinnier. FML
Cropped Out
Today, my cousins cropped me out of a picture of all six of us at a wedding, then captioned it, "We have such a good-looking family!" FML

Picture's worth a thousand words, OP. Send him one of a pretty birdie.

I think the reason OP is upset is because he/she was excluded. It's not about recognition or receiving anything in return, it's the fact that the person mainly responsible for the photo wasn't included in the thank yous. Which is kinda ****** up.

At least he liked it... That's a compliment in itself

Send him an email..."youre welcome grandpa." sometimes you don't always get appreciated. Later down the road, tell your grandpa "I hope you like the frame I put together."

Are you a menace?

Don't do it again next year and bring it up every time you see them so you won't have to put up with it again

OP I see where you are coming from. I'm sure you weren't doing all the work to stand out from the others or to receive all the gratitude. But to not be recognized when everyone else was, was wrong. Hope that it was an oversight and reach out to your gramps! It's better to talk about it then keep it in and wonder! You never know if you or he will be here tomorrow and if he is gone you do not want to live with animosity or question it for years to come!

Did you do it for the thanks or because you love him? Get that straight first ...

I think the reason you didn't get an email thank you is because you hand-delivered it and probably got a face-to-face thank you - am I right? Then he already thought he had thanked you properly. :)

Do family things because you want to, not because you expect a "Thank You."
