Today, my girlfriend's parents wanted to cook dinner for me. After a whole day of cooking up a storm, her parents cooked an elaborate meal of roast lamb, pork chops and grilled chicken. Rejecting a meal is like spitting in ones face in Chinese culture. I'm vegetarian. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. Being a chef of a highly-rated restaurant, I cooked a well-liked dish. Not only did she say no, but commented on how bland and tasteless the meal was. FML
Today, I was at my boyfriend's house for dinner with his family. His mom cooked up a steak dinner, except that I'm a vegan, but trying to be a good girlfriend, I forced it down. Upon his mother finding out I was a vegan, she called me "disloyal to my beliefs." FML
Today, I spent hours cooking dinner for my date. When they arrived, they told me that I'd probably not paid much attention to their dating profile, as it clearly mentioned that they were vegan, and thus couldn't eat any of the food I'd prepared. FML
Today, I made broccoli and peas with dinner. My girlfriend pouted, sulked, and refused to eat "yucky veggies", demanding fries or chips. Apparently, I'm dating a fucking toddler. FML
Today, I spent two hours making dinner for my boyfriend's family. When I brought it over to their house they said "thanks" and didn't bother to invite me to stay to eat it. FML
Today, my boyfriend took me home to have dinner with his parents. I couldn’t eat a single bite after watching his mom let her three dogs taste all the food off her hands, while she also licked her own fingers while cooking. Later on, he dumped me for being rude and “too high maintenance." FML
Today, my parents told me not to make plans for dinner as they were bringing it home. Normally, that would be great but they brought home slop from some buffet that had just opened. Everything was greasy, too salty, or bland. I told them they could have it, and made my own dinner. Now I'm being called, "The Food Network critic." FML
Today, my family are refusing to go out to eat with me anymore. Apparently, me liking my food cooked a certain way infuriates them because it delays our order, and makes the wait staff hate us. FML
Today, my parents invited my Muslim boyfriend over for dinner for the first time. My mother made sure that everything including the salad had pork in it. FML
Today, I went to my fiancé’s family’s house for dinner. They put pork and/or alcohol in EVERY. SINGLE. DISH. Including putting bacon grease in the desserts. They know I’m Muslim and his mom insisted I was being rude for only drinking water. We ended up leaving with me in tears. FML

Why didn't you tell them that when you found out they wanted to cook for you? Unless you had no idea until you arrived for dinner. In which case, FYL indeed.

For all the pple saying shit about vegetarians: stfu! We don't say shit about you, do we? And if we did eat meat, we WOULD get sick. Your body processes meat differently than other foods, and since we havn't eaten meat for so long, it's hard for our bodies to do that. AND vegetarianism IS the most healthy lifestyle. Medical studies have shown it. OP: Even tho I'm also a vegetarian, I have to say YDI. You should've told them you don't eat meat BEFORE they cooked that meal.

To the a-hole @114. If you're actually a med student, you're a little misinformed. B12 isn't in ANY foods naturally. It's a bacteria. It's not even found in ALL red meats. While it does develop in most, it can also be found in soy milk and soybeans (which both vegetarians and vegans consume a lot of) and for the vegetarians who aren't strict about their diet: eggs and dairy. The fish-only "vegetarians" will also get most of their b12 from salmon and trout. And guess what? Since the daily recommended intake of b12 is so low, popping a supplement is an easy fix for those who are too lazy to be sure they're eating the right foods. So yes, being vegan is actually a very healthy diet. More so than the diets that include a lot of red meat (which isn't good for you). Obviously you have to be responsible and make sure you eat the right foods, but that goes for any diet, whether it be vegan, vegetarian or omnivore.

MEAT IS YUMMY!!! Thats why us meat eaters EAT MEAT!! And it is healthy but you should always eat your greens to balance it out! If your vegan or vegetarian thats fine do what you its your body do what ever you like! But dont call people who eat meat MURDERS cuz CATS eat meat DOGS eat meat ANIMALS eat meat and we dont go walking around saying "Oh my god their murders!" And also dont call other people unhealthy just cuz they eat meat or dont! So in that case keep that opinoin to yourself and do whatever it's noting geting in my way so GO BE FREE EAT ALL THE GREENS AND SOYMILK YOU WANT!!! :D

Aside from all the idiots arguing about why meat is so delicious (I won't egg them on, as it won't make a bit of difference until they start requiring a minimum IQ in order to use the internet), I have to say that you deserved this one. You're supposed to tell them BEFORE they start cooking! Anyway, OP, have fun reading through all of these posts. Haha! Trolls are ever so much fun.
